I am incredibly grateful to have worked at Bethanie
The good thingsFrom the day I started I was looked after so well. My manager, the team, everybody in head office, and the Bethanie locations are truly the best people. I was lucky enough to be in such a diverse role, Marketing Coordinator, and learnt so much. I will cherish all the moments I have had working at Bethanie.
The challengesAged care will always be a tough industry, but at Bethanie I felt very supported in any situation.

Poorly treated, toxic management and staff turnover high, good operates are silenced, look elsewhere
The good thingsVillage residents, facilities and team members
The challengesUpper management out of touch, unrealistic hours versus job demands, limited support and out dated systems. The employee behaviours and mission are preached but management themselves don't adhere, nor HR processes, very toxic and clicky, poor leadership and treatment of staff on the ground. Recommend looking elsewhere not worth the effort and heartache

Great memories, would recommend as an employer
The good thingsI found it really organised, management was flexible even with arranging work hours to my needs, there are always staff meetings and private time to express and start a dialogue about anything or get support, all the employees and even contractors were really helpful and friendly and caring
The challengestricky social interaction with the residents due to dementia or similar

Do not work in this team in its current state - It rots from the top
The good thingsThe pay. WFH options available. External teams and Bethanie staff were also lovely when visiting sites :)
The challengesUnrealistic workload expectations from management with essentially no support - favourtism and 'clique-y' mentality runs wild within the team. Toxic, unchecked behaviour has lead many of the team to resign to better places. High stress and preassure trying to help those when no options are available

At this point I don't fully reccomend but there's always room for improvement if they are willing to input positive changes and cut out the mistreatment between staff and clicks lets make bethanie beautiful again
The good thingsThe residents are lovely and head office bethanie on pier team are so kind
The challengesI'm not sure I like the nature of the staff in my facility they are extremely clicky and there's alot of staff left a stray in the team I feel like alot of work and staff bonding it could be a beautiful place again

When I started I thought it would be a good company but management is unreliable, unclear, shifts were cancelled all the time. Doesn't look like a serious company. Very disappointed
The good thingsFlexibility to pick shifts
The challengesShifts get cancelled without notice Not reliable System is not accurate, unclear

Bethanie has a great mission but they need a serious overhaul of their systems and management styles, would not recommend.
The good thingsWFH flexibility is good and retains staff who would otherwise leave.
The challengesChaotic environment, constant changes in staff, management styles etc means that you are never on firm ground. Toxic staff members are not managed appropriately leading to good people leaving. Stress levels are high to intolerable levels.

Unorganised and toxic environment. Would recommend looking elsewhere for opportunities.
The good thingsFull time salaries are good, however not able to keep hold of hard working employees.
The challengesToxic team environment, I could not believe how some employees speak to one another and seem it an OK way to treat fellow colleagues. Bad behaviour is not addressed. Processes rolled out with no after thought on teams it will affect leading to confusion and disgruntled staff. Lack of training and support, a lot of pushback or 'it's not my job' comments. I was glad to be out of the environment. Its like a revolving door with staff coming in and out.
