B&R Enclosures is a good place to work if you want a hands-on job with a friendly team and the chance to learn and grow.
The good thingsWorking at B&R Enclosures as a production worker has been a good experience I learned a lot. The job is straightforward, and the team works well together. The bosses are easy to talk to, and they make sure everyone is following safety rules, which makes it feel safe to work here. The work culture is good. The work was hard for me to pick up at first, but the tasks are clear, and there’s always help if you need it. I completed my cert III in sheetmetal fabrication so I also like that they offer training and apprenticeships so you can learn new things and maybe move up in the company.
The challengesI left to do a different type of boiler making and to grow more in the mines.

Was great at the start. Then management changed and the whole atmosphere changed. Became a toxic place to work if your not I one of the clicks. One rule for you and another rule for the favourite's.
The good thingsPeople on the shop floor. Working hours
The challengesYour just a number. For what they want and the pay they give you, I wouldn't bother. Some toxic leaders. HR never sort any problems out.

After 8 years it was monotonous because of the lack of training to up skill.
The good thingsPermanant work. Interesting but not challenging. Fast paced at times with many things happening at once. A good understanding of time in motion ,by me, was required to keep the work stations running efficiently.
The challengesThe challenge was keep the work stations running while at the same time I was cutting steel and loading and unloading trucks.

B&R's a great, professional workplace, but with an emphasis on work life balance that is a credit to them as a company.
The good thingsB&R was, and I believe still is, a great place to work. It's a family run company with a emphasis on work life balance. There are very few companies that would bend over backwards to help employees in tight spots, but B&R was always there for me when I needed them. One of the things that comes to mind, was letting me take leave for an extended period when I had to travel overseas to see a sick relative. Although this seems like common decency, not many companies these days will put themselves out like that. Others things I always enjoyed there included the annual Christmas party, complete with fairground rides etc for the kids, and Santa of course. Also the Christmas hams...huge and delicious, but with other options too if you didn't like ham. Don't get me wrong here. B&R is not all about fun and times off. There's serious work to be done too as you would expect from Australia's leading enclosure manufacturer. Work at B&R was good too. There is always the opportunity and encouragement for person development and work is process driven but at the same time leaving plenty of room for creativity.
The challengesFor me, meetings are always a challenge anywhere, and B&R like all larger companies has it's fair share of meetings.

The good thingsB&R is a great place to work. There are opportunities to learn new skills and become an apprentice. The HR team and managers supported me through personal issues and given me a stability in terms of a permenent role at 6 months of working there.
The challengesSometimes it hard to get up at 5 for a 6 o'clock start but for a 2:30pm finish means I can pick up the kids.
