Started off great, quickly went downhill once moved to a different team with toxic management
The good thingsOpportunity to work from home after 6 months
The challengesTrainers were impatient and pushy. Team manager was unprofessional. Don’t bother raising concerns with higher management and HR as they team up together against you. Strongly felt my concerns were met with deaf ears, and they did not care about my emotional wellbeing or mental health. Glad I left.

    Do not work here
The good thingsAverage pay, definitely not the best in the market.
The challengesManagement all Sydney based, brush issues under the rug and silence people who have questions or concerns. You have to work in Sydney to be recognised, advance in your career, or even be remembered

The good thingsYou are drawn in with “perks” that never really eventuate or placate needing your work there.
The challengesManagement are bottom line managers and only care about squeezing every cent out of pensioner customers.

    Learn fast and build resilience.
The good thingsYou learn a lot, and spend a lot of time with Senior Managers. Good teamwork across most of the business.
The challengesThe workload increased exponentially due to the RC, and it became unsustainable and unfair on staff from a wellbeing perspective. The closure of BT Advice was far too rushed as well, and was a poor experience for staff and clients.

Good early career experience, highly damaging mentally and emotionally.
The good thingsIt's a good place to start your career and gain experience, move around departments and get exposure to different areas.
The challengesRemuneration is really low, and getting worse. Bonus targets were previously 10% of salary, this has been cut to 5%. Salaries are pooled, so individuals are getting less. It's also a political minefield, which can be challenging to avoid. If you have more than 5-7years experience there's no benefit for you working at BT, move on and grow your career elsewhere at a smaller company.

Good benefits and flexibility with little company care for employees.
The good thingsFlexibility with hours, work from home arrangements, equal opportunity, free parking
The challengesHeavy case load double what it should be making it impossible to service those in need properly. Working heavy overtime - no work life balance and high stress.
