    Unprofessional Environment and Poor Management
The good thingsnothing was good at all
The challengesThe management in this workplace is extremely poor, offering little to no support for staff. Decisions about shifts or opportunities often feel arbitrary or biased, depending on who is favored. Overall, it creates an unfair and unprofessional environment for employees.

    My mental health thanks me.
The good thingsOpportunity to WFH 3 days, subsidized employee (basic level) health insurance with "rewards" like discounts on movie tickets & gift cards etc, and the team of people I worked with.
The challengesTraining structure needs a lot of improvement. Simply not enough scheduled time (especially if the systems decide to ka poot while you're trying to apply what you've learnt) for embedding skills before you are straight into next block of training/up skill and you're still trying to process and learn the previous training block, whilst trying to explain things to a irate customer. Can I really blame them? Expected to know how handle myBupa app calls when we never received training about the app/troubleshooting. I expressed I needed further assistance on certain inquiries and it took WEEKS for someone to actually talk to me about it. The knowledge base system is horrible... It is counterintuitive, makes what should be simple processes unnecessarily complex to navigate or understand. You will be expected to put up with the systems barely ever working too, because that's "just the way things are and always have been". There is a reason half the team left before the 3 month mark.

Be "Brave, Caring, and Responsible" and look elsewhere
The good thingsEmployee discounts but that's about all
The challengesYou won't be living a "longer, healthier, or a happier life" working for this company. Toxic circus run by clowns, Micromanaging at it's finest, Nobody knows what they are doing including TLS and major issues , feedback etc all swept under the rug, Too many major changes with only a few days notice and expected to be "on the ball" with these changes from get go. Newbies left right and centre with no idea who palm the work off often leaving experienced employees fatigued. Mental health is frowned upon...You won't be promoted because favorites exist long before you, so unless you are part of that "clique" all of your hard work will go unrecognized and unnoticed. Impossible to create "connection and collaboration with colleagues" when you are in a different team every 5 mins. So If you want a "happier, longer and healthier life then don't work here look elsewhere

Negative -100 rating working here it is not even enough.
The good thingsNone even a single one I could not think of.
The challengesIf you are a highly competent person who takes pride in your work and expects trust, support, autonomy and reward, please look elsewhere. But if you’re desperate for a paycheck, buckle up. This place is painfully hierarchical as your voice won’t be heard, your ideas won’t matter and autonomy is a fantasy. Most people are ego-driven and terrified of anyone speaking up. Micro-management runs rampant, trust is nonexistent and the pay is laughable compared to the workload and skills required. Some colleagues? Let’s just say the level of professionalism and competence is shocking. Alot of backstabbing and speaking behind your back to management and yes it’s all part of the daily drama. Customers complain because some dont even understand them. Honestly? This has been the worst work experience of my life. I wasted a portion of my life in this toxic circus.

Poor pay, poor support, no recognition. You will stagnate!
The good thingsSmall discount on insurance premium.
The challengesWorking for Defence via Bupa is extremely toxic. Very poor clinical governance processes. Blame the doctor for everything. Your manager at Bupa has no idea what you do but is ready to throw you under the bus if Defence asks them to do so for refusing to take on work outside your agreed contract. Very poor remuneration and support from Bupa. No CPD benefits.

It was good until management made bad decisions that focused on profit and less about the employees.
The good thingsWorking from home. Good staff benefits.
The challengesThe upper management finds a way to erase anything that works well and makes it more difficult for the employees to achieve KPI, which is a result of unrealistic goals. They put a lot of pressure on their employees, no incentives and they show no loyalty or value towards their employees. They outsourced our jobs for profit and made us redundant. The upper management makes changes to the workflow and the employees are not informed about the changes. Team meetings are constantly cancelled due to the queue times which is a result of understaffed employees. No coaching/ career development. The upper management does not take any feedback from the employees on board.

    Went from good to bad.
The good things40% off health insurance.
The challengesRestructures have been more frequent with a bunch of bankers coming in. They remove all the staff to bring in their own friends. Filling of vacant roles is an non-transparent process with a predetermined outcome, it's a tick box exercise. Keep the cheapest employees and load them with extra work. Execs have their own agenda. Offshoring has started. Return back to office has begun and cancellation of the 9 day fortnight. The culture is becoming a bank.

Continuously getting worse, I'm glad I left.
The good thingsThe employee discounts are good, and I made good friends with the people I worked with.
The challengesThe difficulty to progress into leadership. I found it was mostly males that progressed and there were a lot of poor leaders that, despite being in their role for many years, had no idea what they were doing. The lack of transparency. Only got worse each year that passed.

This experience would've more rewarding if training was done properly.
The good things- Benefits and discounts on health insurance - Equipment provided - The team I worked with were amazing - Full time WFH
The challenges- Training was not done properly. We only had 2-3 weeks to learn EVERYTHING and then they threw us on the phones and left us talking to customers without help or support. No training in between (even though we were promised that we'd have training), the only thing that happened was a 10 minute brief in the morning and then we're all left on the phones again without any proper training done. - Systems were always so slow or lagging - KPI was ridiculous and unrealistic - Very underpaid (not worth the stress & anxiety that comes with the job)

Half of the new hires from my batch left within four months due to the challenging work environment and a high level of negativity.
The good thingsI was lucky to have a supportive team leader who consistently improved my experience at Bupa by offering encouragement and understanding without being critical of my work. This made a significant difference, especially in a demanding and low-paid role like Customer Advisor. Also it is not hybrid work, I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing but you will WFH 100%
The challengesMicromanagement and low pay. There was a strong focus on productivity, with close monitoring of time spent between calls, even after handling a high volume of back-to-back calls. Performance metrics were closely tied to collecting payments from customers, requiring advisors to address payment issues that were not the original focus of the call. It could be challenging at times if customers were not willing or able to make a payment during the call, as this would impact performance evaluations.

The good thingsPeople and cheap insurance
The challengesThe system they have set up is terrible, they want you to be with the business for years before they will advance you to other opportunities. They rant on about the staff survey, but never action any of the feedback. It's a very tick the box kind of company

Nice people, but they should actually recognise the work you do, and listen to you when you bring it up politely/reasonably.
The good thingsOne a week/fortnight team activity (online game). Good training.
The challengesTeam Leader was too busy to reply to your messages half the time. (While working from home) The KPIs were too intense. Not only that, they didn't count some of the work you did, towards your KPIs. So I was doing some tasks that took 1.5 x the amount of time than other tasks, but they did not get recognised, meaning less time to actually meet my KPI target.

The challengesTeam Leaders being unreasonable, rude, unprofessional. No work life balance, salary is too low, no opportunity for socialisation, no perks, extremely aggressive customers, high volume of calls, no admin time so work during break, Unrealistic KPI, multiple type of workload, micromanagement, too many admin work but no designated time slot for that.

Overall a very good and supportive company to work for. I would recommend it to anyone. I enjoyed my time here and loved my manager, I hope he is doing well.
The good things- Had a very supportive and great manager. He was truly a good guy and a good leader. I learned a lot from him that I've taken into other jobs. - I found KPIs easy to reach - The company takes care of its employees - Benefits - Pay was fairly good at the time - Easy systems to use and learn. - Career progression
The challenges- Training could have been better - The phone system would sometimes drop out during calls. - Bit strict on break timings though understood because it was inbound calls - Some times difficult to get feedback or support when needing to ask a question and whilst in the training program. It was a lot of information to learn and process at times. - The gentleman that was assigned to our team to give us coaching wasn't that patient or supportive.
