This company is a good example of why OSHC & childcare industry should not be for profit.
The good things A useful stepping stone if you are new to teaching/childcare/education and want to learn more about system.
The challengesBut as a casual its EXTREMELY hard to get shifts. Rostering team will cancel your shifts without any notice. I find it ironic they expect us to give 48 hours notice if we can't work a shift for any reason but will happily cancel shifts the day of with little to no alternative. Management exist in their own little bubble in this company. There's a distinct lack of leadership and direction on a day to day basis.

The good thingsThe educators are always kind and helpful, and they make sure everyone feels included. I really enjoy the creative activities like arts and crafts, and the outdoor games are always exciting. There's always something different to do each day, so it never gets boring.
The challengesWhen children argue or fight. It can make the environment feel stressful or upsetting, especially if it happens during what’s supposed to be a fun activity. It can also take time away from others who are trying to enjoy themselves.

I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of my job particularly building meaningful relationships with children & watching them grow from Kindy to year 6.

More than a just a job - Very happy to promote CA as an employer of choice
The good thingsCA is innovative and not afraid to make change to lead. The hybrid and location-independent working model allows great flexibility and work-life balance. Offering paid parental leave, which is the first in this sector, speaks to how the organisation supports its people. In the people & culture team, I see the efforts to put people first and continually make changes to grow and improve. I have always had wonderful managers who have provided me with many opportunities for professional growth, and I have the best team.
The challengesOur industry isn’t easy of late; we have struggled amongst the rest of the OSHC providers to have enough educators to service demand. In stating that, I have seen our TA team move mountains to find wonderful people to join our organisation.
