Great people, many opportunities to develop professionally and personally
The good thingsGreat culture. The people are fantastic and the opportunity to grow professionally and personally are excellent. The brand is very strong and the products and services offered are market leading
The challengesNo workplace is perfect, but overall this is a great place to work. The overall salary packaging and benefits could be better

A great place to work. Contribution goes both ways at Canon.
The good thingsThey pay well. There are opportunities to volunteer with some great community initiatives. Also the option to provide suggestions. Hybrid working is great.
The challengesIt is a big company. Takes a while to understand all areas.

Review for Harbour IT/Canon. Feels like, in order to survive, you need to be a Robot.
The good thingsI could not find anything; however, HR personal was amazing. Few staffs were trying to help each other to survive, without involving Management because they don't want.
The challengesWorst Management, Huge work pressure, lack of staff, super over commitment with clients, under valuing staff.

If you are just after money and are happy to trade in your mental sanity - this is the place to work.
The good thingsThe salary is good. There is hybrid working flexibility. There is a birthday and Canon Day leave.
The challengesPoor quality of mid-level managers. Management is only concerned about their bonuses and all the values are just fancy talk. Micromanagement from Team leaders. Zero Work-life balance. Poor documentation and no coordination between teams. Passive aggressive style of Management. Won't think twice before making you redundant and no concept of cross-skilling.

I found the management to be unorganised, as they appeared to be poorly trained themselves and unable to provide the necessary support
The good thingsHybrid working and and good culture with in the team
The challengesDissatisfaction with the management and training practices I have recently experienced at your Canon Business Services. I believe that there is a significant lack of proper training and a structured sales plan, which has negatively impacted my perception.

Poor overall experience, subpar training, learn as you go, management are less experienced than the people they have to manage. It's a face fit culture and heavy alcohol glamorisation.
The good thingsSome people are good people. Work life balance is good.
The challengesLazy and complacent management. Terrible standards and even basic duties from senior management go undone. Way too much middle management. Lots of micromanagement. Lack of clear direction, rinse and repeat month after month for some then complete lack of job goals passed onto others. Old school business mentality, lack of modernisation, stuck in the mud management happy to look out for each other so they are nice and cosy.

    It used to be good
The good thingsNot many people working for the company anymore, so you're left to do your job
The challengesCareer development is non exisitant, pay is not up to par considering workload, no workplace culture, no real perks regarding products, massive restructures that only benefit higher management.

The good thingsCANON looks after employees providing education for new employees, good team work, and employees are looked after by managers.

Canon is a progressive & high performance work environment
The good thingsThat Canon brand is pristine and unimpeachable. That's no accident. Everyone working there strives to ensure that consumers and business customers have a good reason to pay a little extra for the Canon brand.
The challengesAn ever-changing market where immediate gratification trumps medium term return on investment.

All talk, no action leaves everyone feeling used.
The good thingsGreat brand. Good Salary. Free printing.
The challengesBlame culture. Incompetent management with short-term strategic vision. Declining market, but expect double-digit growth but will not invest.

    Very disappointing
The good thingsMost of the more junior staff are really friendly, but you dont get much of a chance to talk to them.
The challengesThe company is more focused their bottom line, trying to get more out of their employees without proper remediation. Some staff are performing two peoples jobs.cutbacks a d redundancies are quite frequent. Manager expectations from staff are set very high most often with no support, reward or recognition.A lot of Managers do not know how to handle or motivate. Reward and recognition programs only apply to sales departments. Core company values of the Japanese Kyosei philosophy is only a word and not seeming to be widely practised at Canon Australia.

A tale of two halves - make sure you get into the right department!
The good thingsThe consumer division is very cohesive with strong leadership Lots of benefits like product discounts, on site gym etc.
The challengesThe business division is like the Titanic - moves very slow, management are oblivious and they will end up selling everything online and hundreds more will lose their jobs if they don't stop the ship from sinking. Very poorly run with little care for their employees, regardless of how long you've been there.

    All smoke and mirrors!
The good thingsHaving flexibility to work from home if necessary. You also get a specific $ discount value to spend on cameras and accessories each year.
The challengesNo investment in team and staff once hired and onboard. There is no induction training, no sales capability or up-skilling across the business. Below average eLearning courses have been pulled together, this is all the teams have access to. The business doesn't invest time or money in supporting, coaching or provide team members or management with training to do well in their positions. If you under perform, you are solely to blame. The business doesn't have good staff morale or team engagement. Walking around the office is comparable to walking around a cemetery. There is no life or buzz amongst the office. People come in do their work and leave again, often without talking to anyone else. There are no company celebrations, milestone achievements, sales shout outs etc.
