Feel very blessed to work here! Not without its challenges, but the best place I have worked in my 30+ year career! I have been here for nearly 4 years now and I can't see myself leaving, honestly they'd have to kick me out. There has been some recent instabilities with P&O being sunsetted and many lay offs, however we are coming back, and management is trying to bring back the fun. There are some amazing perks as an employee including ridiculously cheap cruises and family and friend rates. Once a year dirt cheap staff cruise, although sometimes it's difficult to be approved, but if you are flexible with dates and leave you should be ok.

Never regret joining P&O (Carnival Australia).
The good thingsIt was a lifetime experience working with P&O, as I earn money at the same time meet people from different walks of life and visit places that I haven't been to before
The challengesMissing the family back home, otherwise with the friendly staff (crew) and staff facilities available onboard just overcomes it all most of the time

Don't Do it! Not worth it!!!!! Don't walk - Run
The good thingsIn the Begining I had a great manager, who was supportive and I learn allot from. It is nice to have a cruise every year (Very Cheap), bu keep in mind this benefit is difficult to get. You need to apply for leave about 6 months in advance (if you are on a big team), but only get confirmation of a staff cruise 2 months before departure. Many people dont get their staff cruise in the year. The atmosphere can be fun, the team is great, but the workload is high, very busy and often stressful, so it can be difficult to join in on fun activities.
The challengesManagement expect allot and you are constantly monitored, even the smallest error, tone of voice not being right, anything! is picked up and commented immediately. I had a tough job, stressful and worked extremely hard. And even though I had a reputation for being good at what I do, new manager was constantly looking for faults. Pay was very low for level of responsibility you have and the expectations placed on you. When I left, I got a new job, 10K more money and half the stress and responsibility
