Fun while it lastedThe good thingsWorking across multiple artistic and cultural events, exhibitions, festivals and some corporate conferences too. When there is a busy period there is quite a decent amount of shifts that you will be required to work. The people on the FOH and BOH teams are both lovely and fair, and feel a sense of support. When it's more active it can be an exciting and interesting place to work. At times they can offer career progression.
The challengesLeft stranded during covid times with no Jobkeeper provided to most casual employees.
Inconsistent shifts, competitive to get on the roster even as a new recruit or longer term employee. Upper management changing shifts last minute can be difficult if you already have made prior commitments or have another role outside of this workplace. I suggest if you apply for this role that you maintain another job for an additional source of income as this role can be quite sporadic. FOH aren't nearly as valued as they should be.
