Things start off well, then the workload gets bigger and bigger. This is a reward for all of your good work. Under 30's are favoured and prioritised. High turnover of employment. I do not recommend
The good thingsGood people to work with Nice office Hybrid working arrangements
The challengesNo work/ life balance A lot of unpaid overtime is standard every day No diversity of employee ages. At all

    Toxic workplace culture, be aware
The good thingsThe salary was above average.
The challengesToxic workplace culture in an elitist environment where management are interested only in themselves and getting ahead. Promotion is not based on merit, only those that have a relationship with management are promoted. No work life balance with an expectation to work long work hours without remuneration or workplace benefits. High turnover of staff and low morale with the hiring of inexperienced employees.

Was a good company previously but now drives an SME focused Strategy
The good thingsSome good people, social
The challengesWon't listen to positive change suggestions, senior management don't actually drive any strategy, dictated to them by the USA, lost its relevance in the Australian Corporate Market

Brilliant opportunity for those willing to put in the work
The good thingsCareer development is a priority of the management team if you have shown the aptitude, work ethic, and a willingness to engage. Incredibly friendly team of people across most, if not all, areas of the business.
The challengesProcess reviews take forever to be completed meaning the innovation and adaptability of the team can be stunted.

I don't know what other departments of Chubb are like, but the call centre floor of the North Sydney location was a toxic environment to work in, and management needs vast improvement.
The good thingsI worked in one of the call centre teams. My colleagues were amazing, as was my direct manager.
The challengesThe management team did not seem to take on feedback. The team was severely short staffed, yet when targets weren't met there was no consideration of this. Blame was placed upon staff members for taking toilet breaks, and clocking on or off a minute or so off of schedule. Turnover of staff was already bad when I joined, it only got worse during my time there.

Great culture and people but lacking innovation
The good thingsChubb is built through great management teams who provides support and development for those who seek for it. They say its the people that makes a company, the individuals here are all approachable even senior management at asia pacific level. Did I mention we have a drinks trolley every fortnightly Fridays for the company to bond? There's also flexibility in the work place which we all seek when looking for that next move. The only condition is being on top of your workload and ensure you manage this well.
The challengesThe systems in place are poor and for a new system to be implemented takes well over 12months which still contains issues and bugs which are too difficult to resolve. We solve one issue and something else falls apart. There are no financial perks or employee benefits like RDO's and expenses are capped as chubb operates on a very tight budget. Not only underwriter expenses but in general such as upgrade of software, we are still using Lotus Notes where the world has moved onto outlook. A business case needs to be built for employee to work remotely or even from home.
