Not a good experience at all.
The good thingsNo positives. Find another site.
The challengesBehind the times, bureaucratic management, doesn’t truly care for WHS legislation, management knows there’s a culture issue but chooses to ignore it, purple circle prevalent…

Camp is ageing with no planned activities. Gym is full! You will never go past level 2 pay (there are 5 levels). You will receive NO job specific training outside the gate. Enjoy the dumplings for breakfast
The good thingsHmmm. A tight knit crew for the majority of the time.
The challengesThe poorest management and safety I've ever experienced in mining. The carpet has been swept under so much the holes in the cheese are appearing big time.

When you share the magic its infectious: As frontline Shovel Operator at this mine-site I would always bend over backwards to ensure everyone within my work-space would always feel safe, comfortable and secure.
The good thingsBeing made to feel very proud and privileged of being accepted as a member to a very well oiled, close knit and highly respected team who all made it possible of turning a continuous 12-1/2 hour shift into half that time. Everybody's goes home feeling Happy Safe and Secure. Total ***Magic***
The challengesWhen your team is not bonding together or caring enough for one and others health and safety during our working 12 -1/2 hour shifts, suddenly your day can start to drag? Notify your supervisor immediately if you have any concerns.

Love HME workshop, food has been getting better and better, great crew. Excited about new autonomous gear.
The good thingsBest set up workshop in the state, clean and nicely organised. Biggest machines, new autonomous gear is coming soon. Loved my crew, best mob i've worked with. Food has been up and down, for the past 6months has been consistently good.
The challengesManagement can be slow to make changes. It can befrustrating, its like this with other mining companies too so it's not just them.

Good learning experience, but don't stay for long.
The good thingsGreat place for experiencing industry areas in one operation (mining, processing, power generation, desalination and port). Good for building technical knowledge and experience in Occupational Hygiene.
The challengesYour position only exists purely because of legislative requirement. With no opportunity to implement positive changes to the workplace and zero support from the business. Very clear distinction between treatment of management verus treatment of workers. Perth office are severely disconnected in their own pretend corporate bubble.

The challengesLike any job it has its challenges, but I wouldnt still be here after 4 years if I didn't enjoy my work and working alongside my team.
