Good experience in a fast pace and high commitment working environment.
The good thingsLearned to work in fast pace and one off accuracy of transaction processing Understand the importance of adopting a conservative position when processing high value transactions to avoid unexpected losses
The challengesThis job require high attention to details and commitment to deliver client expectations within reasonable timeframe. It is important to work as a team to meet daily targets and help each other to resolve issues within jobs.

Only recommended for 6 months experience to get into the real banking world with the big 4.
The good thingsGateway to the Big 4
The challengesDead end for career growth. Extremely poor management. Salary is poor and no career opportunities. Higher management is scared to even do a Q&A without engineering the questions before hand. Culture is poisonous and politics in every department. Unprofessional workers in general.

The good thingsThey offer work from home arrangement but also mean you are tied to your work 24/7
The challengesVery poor management. Turnover just in my team is shockingly high but nobody in management seems to see it is because of low staff morale.

Great place to work and build a lifelong career if you are willing to overlook certain things
The good thingsA great place for young people to build a lifelong career with vast opportunities to work overseas
The challengesThe fact that s lot of functions have been and continue to be off shored has become a major issue for longtime employees.

Challenging and rewarding, wih a great team and never dull!
The good thingsWorked with a great bunch of ladies whom I still miss years later. While there was tension at times, there was a real focus on working as a team to reach our goals despite our differences, and that gave me a real feeling of achievement.
The challengesCitibank is a global company, and our head office was in Singapore including our IT support. Sorting out technical problems over the phone by a critical deadline is challenging enough; but these guys not living in a country where English is their main language - so very hard to communcate with on a tehnical level! On those days, my stress levels were way up there!

Great place to stretch and exercise your skills especially if you like challenges at work assuming work/life balance is secondary to you.
The good thingsLean management structure and being not top heavy, your work has management visibility. And also being a global consumer bank with global outreach in the capital markets arena, you have opportunities to apply your skills in the global arena if deemed appropriate for business.
The challengesBeing global bank it has its own challenges in the way that product offerings and roadmap would be charted by regional business which necessarily may not be localised enough with the local market's competition. With the IT systems regionalised and platform enhancements heavily regimented, the time to market for new products would pose a challenge for local markets unless recognised and prioritised by the regional business.

Citibank provides me with right challenges to help me grow within the field of banking and operations
The good thingsDepending on your branch the experience can be different. Hunter St branch has probably the best culture and people to work with.
The challengesCitibank had a lot of security measures and policies which are all important but can sometime hinder the ability to provide the best customer service. Although as a whole the customer service is top notch.

Recommended for young bankers as an opportunity to experience different clienteles
The good thingsTeam work is great. Ability for improving language also a big plus. The location I work in is also quite a bonus as there are business opportunities. It is a great stepp8ng stone for my next career goal.
The challengesThe work hours is extremely long which is a Asian culture reflection. Given the sales mentality it can be quite cutthroat so the turnover is high. Location is quite far to where I live which makes travel a pain.
