A Revolving Door. You'll be constantly recruiting because of the high turnover of staff.
The good thingsThere's some nice beaches. Field and operational staff quite good.
The challengesExecutive Leadership and governance at the City of Mandurah is very ineffective. Competent staff are undermined by inconsistent executive decision-making, internal politics, and weak accountability at executive levels. Outcomes appear overly influenced by personal relationships and perception rather than evidence or professional advice. Minor issues are escalated defensively instead of being resolved pragmatically while significant issues stagnate. Delivery is prioritised over safety. Cross-team cooperation is poor, with projects often commenced without adequate internal or stakeholder review, leading to post-completion issues and community dissatisfaction. Community consultation is a box ticking exercise. The turnover of professional staff warrants external scrutiny and raises concerns about leadership behaviour, workload, and organisational sustainability. Culture is non-existent and any organisational values are pretty much ironic or hypocritical. Avoid.

Working here it was disappointing, I would not recommend anyone work here as a lifeguard
The good thingsShifts were fairly easy to pick up and the general staff were friendly and fun to work with.
The challengesQuite a lot can be improved even with only working here a short period. Communication was incredibly poor and I am disappointed in whoever hired upper management, I was unfairly labelled by upper management as having an "attitude" without warning only knowing this the moment I was promptly laid off, however as a fairly quiet and straightforward person I supposedly have one! Pay is the lowest compared to every other aquatic centre compared to other colleagues I had working as Lifeguards. Shifts were incredibly inconsistent and despite doing everything asked of me I was unfairly let go without warning. Just because workers may not appear as outwardly cheerful, that does not mean they have an attitude, it's simply unrealistic to expect anyone to be upbeat all the time.
