    AI summary of recent reviews

The City of Nedlands offers a supportive and collaborative work environment, with many reviews highlighting the positive team atmosphere and helpful colleagues. Recent improvements in leadership, particularly with the new CEO, have brought positive changes to the organisation. Employees appreciate the training opportunities and chance to work on diverse projects, which help build their careers in local government. Additional benefits such as free parking, central location, and additional superannuation are also valued by staff.

However, the organisation faces some operational challenges, including high staff turnover (though noted as common in local government) and workload management issues due to insufficient staffing levels. Infrastructure concerns, including limited office space and outdated IT systems, affect daily operations. Some employees also indicate that compensation levels could be more competitive given the responsibilities of their roles.

Good place to build experience but is a chaotic environment with poor planning, poor resources, high staff turnover, lack of staff appreciation
The good thingsAbility to get involved in lots of different projects and build experience as there's so much that needs improvement in operations, non-management staff are friendly and supportive, flexibility and remote working was improving, free parking, central location
The challengesInsufficient staffing, high workload, poor planning, unrealistic timeframes, very high staff turnover at the management and non-management level, council is incompetent - they don't value staff and make terrible decisions that impact operations. wages low compared with level of responsibility.

Don't expect to be valued by the Council, they are entitled, patronising, discriminatory and out of control.
The good thingsThe Planning Team was a great collaborative group of fantastic individuals.
The challengesThe Council were horrific. Complete distrust of the Planning Department, created ongoing changing priorities and constant chaos in a reactionary environment.
