    Great team/culture, comprehensive training and awesome office!
    The good thingsThe comprehensive training during onboarding; very clear on what there is to do, many different forms of training and development as well as allocated time to do it, and loads of support throughout. The office space itself is clean and well set up with great amenities and the staff are all super lovely. Its been really refreshing to come into a vibrant team culture and feel genuinely welcomed, which makes for starting a new role easier. Also love free parking, casual attire Fridays and a 'cake day' every month to celebrate birthdays.
    The challengesI really can't think of anything other than Sit/stand desks.

    I’ve had a great first month at Community First Bank with a supportive team and welcoming customers.
    The good things I’ve had a really positive experience as a new staff member at Community First Bank. Everyone has been incredibly supportive, and the team is amazing, kind, respectful, and always willing to help. The customers have also been lovely, which has made settling into my role even more enjoyable. I’m very grateful to be part of such a welcoming and supportive environment.
    The challengesI’ve had a great first month at Community First Bank, with a supportive team and a smooth, positive learning experience with no major challenges.

    My experience has been perfect, I am always learning new skills, making new friends and progressing in my career.
    The good thingsCommunity First Bank has been a really good job opportunity for myself. It has taught me many new skills and lessons. The staff are all so friendly and helpful all of the time. Before starting the job, my manager was super organised and caring to make me feel as prepared/ ready as possible. The training has been amazing, Community First give you many opportunities and are always wanting to hear your future goals. There are many training programs/ courses that allow staff to learn many new skills. Community First treat you like family rather than an employee. I really enjoy working here and can't wait to continue progress in my career.

    A great place to work with amazing and helpful colleagues and constant learning and devloping.
    The good thingsFrom day one I have had an incredibly supportive and welcoming team. Before this, I had never worked in banking or finance, yet I am becoming more and more confident in my role because of the support and consideration I have received from the store team I and the teams in our region.
    The challengesThey are being honest and transparent when they tell you there is a lot to learn. There is a lot of training and reading to do but if you are willing to take on the challenge, it is definitely doable.

    So far, I've really enjoyed working at Community First. I've never received this level of support from any other place I've worked.
    The good thingsEveryone is so welcoming and supportive. It's a very easy-going, low-pressure environment.
    The challengesThere's quite a bit of training and the program takes some time to learn to navigate but you get used to it after a short time.

    It is hard to find a company that can live up to their stated vision. Community First, the staff and management, work toward that every day. CFB has been the best employer I have ever had.
    The good thingsThe people, the belief in providing the best outcomes for members that is shared from the top down. The support you receive when something goes wrong in your life and the opportunities that are presented to those that work hard and perform well.
    The challengesCommunity First Bank is a small/medium company. 150 plus staff and their are only so many roles availble to grow into at any one time.

    Beautiful Work-Life Balance, this role is suitable for a wide range of people wishing to join the Banking World!
    The good thingsIt has been so nice and welcoming, everyone has been so lovely and helpful in every way. I enjoy coming to work everyday. We have lovely members and colleagues who really care about the wellbeing of everyone.
    The challengesI have yet to find any challenges, i feel like i am learning and implementing what i am learning at a steady pace. I know that i am surrounded by people who will take the time to help me overcome any challenges when they do arise.

    The challengesManagement need to be in touch with staff more. No flexibility with rosters. Communication is poor. No flexibility with work, life or family balance. Expected to work above your job role with no increase in salary.

    The challengesAt the time a smaller institution, therefor limited opportunities in career progression. This is by no means the fault of the company, just the circumstances at the time.

    Most of my coworkers were great and I could have good chat with them but i constantly felt like i couldn't live up to the managements expectations.

    The challengesThe workload. As a banking specialist you get lots of work put on you that you would not expect being in the lowest position in the company and it felt like id come in every week and have a new task or two that was apart of my job.

    I am enjoying my time in Community First; they are good people, and they really care about their members. They do everything they can to make a new employee feel welcome and it shows from day one.
    The good thingsAll of the staff are actually friendly and ready to help. They really value each other. It's not the standard "family environment", the team is really supportive
    The challengesThe training is a lot of information to take in. Which is understandable given the field of employment.

    Best career move I've made yet!
    The good thingsThe training is comprehensive and the trainer is kind and patient, he is very accommodating and no questions are unanswered, I have reached out to him a number of times and nothing is ever a bother to him. My manager is one of the most amazing and understanding managers I have encountered, in any industry I have worked in. I'm a bit sad that I didn't switch to a credit union earlier. The staff all actually CARE about each other!

    The good thingsCould commence without a qualification, not as much pressure on sales targets.
    The challengesNot a cent of paid maternity leave which is horrific in today’s climate. Low salary for store staff, only the higher ups get paid a decent wage. Gossipy, immature environment at a store level.

    An amazing company with great people, definitely a great organisation.
    The good thingsThe great thing about community first is the management and the people working for the business and overall work life balance. I was able to start off with not knowing a thing about banking and the organisation provided training and leadership skills to excel my career to leadership at the age of 25 after working at Liverpool store as a mortgage lender, Sydney as relief and then North West Sydney as a branch coordinator / Manager. Every single manager and staff member I met were kind, supportive and a pleasure to deal with. The organisation will notice your hard work and dedication and although at times there may not be many advancements of available positions, leadership will dedicate any opportunities to help support your growth in the business and in your personal life with what they have. The overall care for their customers is genuine and Community First is a gem to work for because we can offer top of the range products to any new customer that approaches better than competitors. If your thinking to start a career in finance this business is a great stepping stone or an opportunity to bring your skills forward. I left to enter a new industry where I carry my enthusiasm and passion that was initiated by working here! Forever Grateful to the talent management team, regional management, head of stores and branch managers in Sydney.
