I will never go back to COG. Work/life balance was terrible.
The good thingsThe coworkers were the best part of this job. Employee discount was the only thing keeping me going at times.
The challengesManagement wasn't the greatest. Targeted people who didn't meet certain KPI, which is understandable, but put the KPI's up on everyone picking and highlighted the people who didn't make it that morning for everyone to see. Embarrassing behaviour.

Great job for young adults & there is opportunity to further your career in the company.
The good thingsI enjoyed working at Factorie. It was a fun environment. It had a few issues but I think it would be hard to come across a job that doesnt. It was a great job for me as a young adult and had great opportunities for growth/furthering your career. The 50% employee discount is also really nice to have!
The challengesI personally wasn't a fan of the fact that we HAD to approach every customer as soon as they entered the store. I feel like it was really forced and unsustainable. Speaking from experience AS A CUSTOMER - I hate when people approach me straight away. I prefer to look around for a few minutes first.

If you want to triple handle yoru tasks and wait 3-5 business days for your "leader" to respond to questions, then you'll love it here! Who team is looking to leave, and I support them. There is no progression where you are or proper training especially in VM. You get a crash course in POS and RISK, then baby sit sister stores because they don't have trained team or managers
The good thingsThe team in store that worked with me
The challengesMinimal support Area manager is hard to get a hold of Poor direction VM challenges

Best people to work with but the pay doesn't warrant the workload and stress that come along with furthering your career with this company.
The good thingsManagement and team leaders at certain stores make life at Cotton On group wonderful.
The challengesMaximum effort for minimum wage, unrealistic expectations of staff regarding KPI's and deadlines.

Full of great people but disorganised and hostile upper management
The good thingsGreat coworkers, generous staff discount, longevity of employment
The challengesRefuse to move people off casual employment, push management responsibilities onto casual employees, unrealistic expectations, management shortage with refusal to hire externally, little to no mental health support for staff

If it's a store based role, you are in for a massive workload
    The good thingsOpportunity for development
The challengesThe workload for store management & store teams are ridiculous, and the way the company makes the team double handle alot of tasks, because they change their mind about promo's/ vm direction/ sale set up creates a very un organised atmosphere.

    Fun place to get started.
The good thingsTeam is generally very good, it's a great company to have your first job with. A good discount and promotions available for staff.
The challengesIf you are looking for career growth then it may not be the place for you , it can get very stagnate and repetitive. You are recognised less for the work you do and the more for the people in the store that you are friends with. A lot of management/staff changes.
