Working for a company that works to improve the lives of children and young people living in care is such a privilege - my experience has been great and I recommend anyone looking to apply, to apply today!
The good thingsReally supportive and flexible management/team members. You are always supported to meet your full potential with ongoing access to trainings and regular team check-ins. CREATE Foundation as a whole are supportive and inclusive. You feel very welcome and supported from the moment you commence in your role.

Do not recommend. As someone who is highly skilled I felt like I was disposable
The good thingsThe small team and the young people you get to work with. Opportunities to work on interesting projects.
The challengesNational management micromanage the state teams and are punitive in the way they manage their staff. Job is based on KPIs and if you are not achieving them they don’t care. High staff turnover due to the lack of care they provide their staff. I left feeling overworked, unappreciated and burnt out. No opportunities for growth. For an organisation that works with young people a lot of their systems are outdated. Toxic work environment.

HR OfficerThanks for taking the time to provide a review. We’re sad to hear you had a negative experience and would have enjoyed the opportunity to chat with you prior to you leaving to tease out your concerns. Best of luck for the future.

Our work is fantastic, but we are often let down by senior managers.
The good thingsThe work the state teams, do. They are the face of the organisation but don't get the credit for their work.
The challengesThe extreme challenges that Senior managers cause. They micro-manage and don't take feedback, and aren't supportive.

Love being apart of the CREATE family.
The good thingsThe mission, vision and core principles. It’s fantastic caring work place and one I’m proud to be apart of!
The challengesMinimal government funding. There is only so much a small team can do. But boy do we do a lot!

Need to be a mind reader to work here
The good thingsGreat mission and some good programs in place. Love working with young people. State offices do a great job with few resources and little support.
The challengesManagement is inconsistent and not good at communicating with staff. Systems and processes very outdated, especially IT systems, and there is no willingness to change or improve.

Fantastic role but org is let down by toxic / poor leadership / m/ment.
The good thingsThe young people! Rewarding supporting young people with a care exp. You play a key role helping young people be heard and improving the care system.
The challengesHigh turnover of quality staff. Due to poor leadership and m/ment. Sad as the org could be so great. Pay is low compared to sector community worker rates not qualified social worker rates.

I absolutely love working for CREATE Foundation and count myself very lucky to work for such a great organisation
The good thingsThe passionate people that CREATE attracts is one of the best parts of working for this organisation The benefits, rewards and feedback The collaborative team spirit of the organisation and striving to all achieve the one common goal of improving the lives of children and young people in care The work/life balance is a great benefit
The challengesLike most NGOs funding can be a challenge, but it's part of working in this area. CREATE work hard to maintain and increase funding wherever possible
