Training and development is touted at every turn but not backed by any budget or action. A top heavy, flat management structure and no succession planning means that career development is stagnated. Overall a stuffy, boring and outdated employment experience.
The good thingsCentral services really care and try to bring the team together with events and food.
The challengesCompany is directionless and seems to have been riding the coat tails of the past 10 years of low interest rates with no solid plans for the challenging economic times ahead. Bizarre outdated business systems and procedures that are 20 years behind most modern companies. Top heavy management who have a swathe of education behind them but minimal or non existent people management skills.

    Great Option
The good thingsAwesome CBD based office with plenty of transport options. Great people and better pay than any of my roles before. Plenty of social events and treats throughout the year to keep you entertained

    Avoid if you can
    The good thingsNice office spaces.
The challengesVery poor management and too much internal politics. The company is built on foundations set up 20 years ago and nothing has changed. No flexibility, no work like balance and the company has a very flat structure so no development.

    Ok if you are desperate
The good thingsProfessional environment at the start, most staff and management able to talk the talk
The challengesDepending on which middle management you are reporting to you will not be provided with challenging work or given opportunities to express yourself

A 'people first' company that gives you the opportunity to develop and refine your skills
The good thingsCompany places a strong emphasis on continuous learning and development, and that’s something I pursue on both a professional and personal level. It’s a great environment and culture, and has let me chart a path for my career to explore what the future holds for the field of marketing. The projects I work on affect how Cromwell utilises their marketing stack, and being part of an organisation that’s globally focused means that what I build and create has a wide scope of application and purpose. Bonus that it's headquarters are in Brisbane - most HQs are in Sydney.
The challengesWas often given challenges beyond my scope to solve, so depending on your appetite for working outside of your comfort zone and grow, this can be seen as a challenge or pain point for your decision to choose Cromwell.

Want to say good but overall... disappointing
The good thingsStaff here were terrific, friendly and always engaging. Special mention to upper management who were always easy to approach and talk with.
The challengesMiddle to lower management, apathetic, at times very distant and uninterested in the challenges you were treating with.

Cromwell Property Group is exemplary of how a company among it’s peers should be run.
The good thingsCromwell Property Group is a professional organisation with a very diverse and loyal workforce who foster a supportive culture through their management style. Despite the challenges you are presented with most days, Cromwell Property Group equips you with the tools to meet those challenges and the support network to solve any problem head on. I feel very fortunate to be a part of this organisation and look forward to any known and unknown obstacles this role can present.
The challengesYou can be presented with various tasks and problems outside of your realm of expertise or prior experience. Despite this, Cromwell Property Group always provides more than enough support through their management team or your colleagues from other departments to help you navigate any problem you maybe presented with. This cohesive working environment has been extremely beneficial to my career development and has set me up for further career progression within and outside of the organisation.

Initially good, family feeling company. Now the blurb on the website about empathy, fairness and loyalty makes me laugh.
The good thingsThis was a great company to work for initially but due to restructure of management and company restructure it was far from it at the end. The newest and the least deserving people were rewarded (depending on which manager they were chummy with) and the most loyal, hardworking, long-term employees forgotten.
The challengesThe lack of respect amongst employees and even certain members of management. Very unprofessional.

A friendly company that values its employees
The good thingsA great company to work for with a friendly team. The company is now much larger and more dispersed than when I first joined the team, but it has still kept the friendly vibe. There is an ever-growing focus on employee well-being.
The challengesCommunication - the growth over the last few years has put a strain on global communications. Whilst this is improving, it's important this is a continued focus.

Good at the start run by amateur middle managers now
The good thingsWas a well run company until it became all about money
The challengesLack of opportunity depending where your work base was. Rewarded the wrong people

    Would recommend
The good thingsSome great people to work with and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Your work is appreciated.
The challengesIt is said that people often move/stay due to their boss and this was true in this case. However, they also have some excellent managers and had I been moved to the right person I would have stayed.
