My experience at CS Energy was disappointing due to poor leadership, high turnover, and a lack of recognition for hard-working employees, leading to a toxic work environment.
The good thingsGood people work for the company
The challengesCS Energy faces significant challenges in its leadership and work culture. Good, hardworking employees are often let go without clear reasons, leading to high turnover. The executives, particularly the CEO, show little concern for employee well-being or retention. Instead of fostering a positive, supportive environment, the company allows negativity and poor management to thrive, making it difficult for employees to feel valued or motivated. If CS Energy wants to improve, it needs to start by addressing these leadership issues, valuing its talent, and eliminating toxic behaviors that are dragging the company down.

Have been working here for 6 months and it's been a breath of fresh air. The company is working its way through its historic challenges and at the same time is forward-focused on transitioning the company, its assets and its people for the future - a diversified low-carbon energy portfolio. Such a great time to get involved.
The good thingsSo many opportunities to make a difference as the company navigates the energy transition. Friendly culture and great work environment.
The challengesWith the company growing at such a fast pace there have been challenges in terms of alignment and collaboration on key activities. The company is working hard to address this and changes have been noticeable.

There are better options available in the western downs region within this sector. Save yourself the pain and suffering, and learn from others' mistakes.
The good things- most staff working here are friendly and great to work with
The challenges- CS Energy as a company lacks integrity. based on its own defined core values - Advises one thing, then does another. - Over utilise of contractor staff to the company's advantage, in most cases turning a blind eye. - Career progress very limited for most, unless your in with certain groups. -

Don’t work for CS Energy unless you really can’t get a job anywhere else
    The good thingsHybrid working opportunities
The challengesThe culture is the worst I’ve experienced. Many heads of and managers have been employees for 20+ years and only know how to manage not lead. They reward all the wrong things.

Definitely going in the right direction
The good things- Lots of new technologies either just implemented or in the process of being implemented. And there is a clear understanding of the importance of these in the future of the company - Large amount of new staff from various industries with fresh ideas and out-of-the-box thinking which is refreshing in the Energy sector - CEO is very accessible and communicates regularly - Top notch End-of-Trip facilities for those who like an active commute to work (High quality bathrooms, Showers, lockers, towel service and bike racks)
The challenges- Still quite a few spreadsheet heroes in the some pockets of the business and therefore lots of room to automate and optimise processes - Blind eye turned to poor cultural behaviors of some individuals due to the importance of their roles, although this is starting to get better.
