Second stint at CVGT because I enjoyed it so much the first time!
The good things- Breaking down barriers with a participant to assist them getting job ready. - Assisting them with finding employment and seeing how much it benefits their lives. - No 2 days are the same.
The challenges- Seeing a participant make significant progress only for an employer not to give them a chance.

No company is perfect but this is a pretty great place to work.
The good thingsI joined the organisation when they were on the cusp of significant change with the senior leadership and a new CEO. I've watched the company evolve into a stronger and more focussed business that strives to deliver on its purpose.
The challengesWe are always chasing our tail with personnel - a complex challenge of finding the right people in regional areas, coupled with the remuneration of a not-for-profit organisation and the normal turnover of employment services. The company is PBI registered so the tax benefits are real and a great benefit but sometimes those are not always visible for attracting talent. There is also the challenge of the ever changing policy and compliance requirements that go with delivering services on behalf of the government. It created unnecessary uncertainty and complexity for roles that are already dealing with a challenging caseload.

    supportive workplace
The good thingsCVGT has provided me with a career not just a job. I have been given opportunities to grow within the company and develop into a people manager encouraging staff to perform at a high level whilst supporting their own professional growth

Great place to work, however minimal chance for professional growth.
The good thingsI thoroughly enjoyed the one-on-one servicing with participants. You're able to see tremendous growth from young people who may not have a mentor or someone in their life that they're able to lean on.
The challengesThe role is a very fine line between EMPLOYMENT and SOCIAL WORK: at times you find yourself helping participants with things that are out of your jb description.

I loved my job at CVGT and I would happily return to my role if I could.
The good thingsMy workmates were like my family, lots of training available to staff, lots of resources such as resume writers / call centre / marketing team etc. and a very reputable company to work for. Offering lots of team building activities and out of dress days.
The challengesSometimes a hard industry to work in.
