What’s it like working at CVGT?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees find the work at CVGT meaningful, particularly in helping participants become job ready and witnessing the positive impact on their lives. Career development opportunities are available, with staff able to grow into leadership roles. The supportive team environment is highly valued, with colleagues described as family-like and regular team building activities. Training and resources are readily available, including resume writers and marketing support. Under new senior leadership, the company has evolved into a stronger, more focussed business.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as recruitment difficulties in regional areas due to not-for-profit remuneration structures, though PBI tax benefits are available. The role can extend beyond employment services, with staff sometimes supporting participants with matters outside their core responsibilities. Government policy and compliance requirements change regularly, adding complexity to already demanding caseloads. The employment services industry can be challenging at times, particularly when participants make progress but face barriers to employment opportunities.

Second stint at CVGT because I enjoyed it so much the first time!
The good things- Breaking down barriers with a participant to assist them getting job ready. - Assisting them with finding employment and seeing how much it benefits their lives. - No 2 days are the same.
The challenges- Seeing a participant make significant progress only for an employer not to give them a chance.

No company is perfect but this is a pretty great place to work.
The good thingsI joined the organisation when they were on the cusp of significant change with the senior leadership and a new CEO. I've watched the company evolve into a stronger and more focussed business that strives to deliver on its purpose.
The challengesWe are always chasing our tail with personnel - a complex challenge of finding the right people in regional areas, coupled with the remuneration of a not-for-profit organisation and the normal turnover of employment services. The company is PBI registered so the tax benefits are real and a great benefit but sometimes those are not always visible for attracting talent. There is also the challenge of the ever changing policy and compliance requirements that go with delivering services on behalf of the government. It created unnecessary uncertainty and complexity for roles that are already dealing with a challenging caseload.
