    A breath of fresh air
The good thingsI have been in the workforce for a long time and this organisation is the best so far. The culture is fantastic. You are genuinely listened to and colleagues are inherently interested to hear about your journey within DA and how they can help make it better.
The challengesNone that come to mind.

Demoralising. A constant battle between speaking up or ignoring the poor behaviour and choosing to accept the toxicity and low morale.
The good thingsWork life balance, and flexible work arrangements.
The challengesToxic culture at middle management level.

My skills and experience are valued and I have enjoyed learning about the research and development that is undertaken to support the industry. The opportunity to support the regional teams is also interesting. Feel like i have a much better work/life balance than in my previous role.
The good thingsLots of really passionate people who are very much aligned to the values of Dairy Australia. There is a real sense that you are valued for the experience that you bring to the role and are encouraged to think of ways to add value to your team and the organisation as a whole. I have also loved the opportunity to work with people regionally.
The challengesIt is quite a complex business and getting to understand all the parts can be a bit of a challenge

I would recommend DA as a great place to work and a supportive work environment.
The good thingsDA has a great culture with many passionate people. The opportunity to get out on farm was an amazing experience and interacting with the farmers.
The challengesNot coming from a dairy background was a challenge but everyone was so kind and willing to share their knowledge and expereince.

Frustrating, unfulfilling, largely irrelevant work with no opportunity for growth and development in the role
    The good thingsHelping farmer opportunities
The challengesDictatorial inflexible management, working in isolation, secretarial and small event organising work mostly, lack of training and support, activity outdated and not responsive to farmer needs, competition from government staffers and long standing training providers.

Excellent organisation with and incredible workplace culture
The good thingsDairy Australia is committed to supporting the Dairy industry and their newly implemented values reflect a true modern working approach. Management have come a long way and are diverse and innovative, they allow you to think outside the box and the culture is next to none. 2020 was a big year for Dairy Australia and the development has been remarkable. I personally feel like a privileged and valued member of the team and would definitely recommend it as a workplace.
The challengesA positive challenge has been migrating to new systems as it does take some employees time to be competent with them.

The good thingsFlexibility. Use of some good digital technology
The challengesReward and recognition has a long way to go. Workplace culture is work in progress

A great sized organisation where everyone is working for the greater good of the industry - passion is in abundance. The organisation is changing which is a good thing and there is a lot of opportunity to add value and think outside the square.
The good thingsWork-life balance A maturing organisation Opportunitied to think outside the 'boundaries' of a role.
The challengesThe industry is complex, with a lot of different stakeholders to play to. A not for profit, so always walking a fine line between employees feeling rewarded and recognised, versus the industry perceiving us to be decadent. A maturing organisation, so things are constantly changing.

Lots to learn and genuine intent to improve the culture.
The good thingsSmall size makes it easy to navigate. Access to the leadership team. Genuine drive to improve culture.
The challengesOld behaviours still show up at times and can be frustrating. Considering the industry they are in, they are influenced by the bureaucratic government culture.

It was difficult to understand the business strategy and the fight for budget allocation was a battle, with different rules for different department.
The good thingsGood work life balance
The challengesThe politics and silo mentality, no real team work and career opportunity, its one job and no chance of promotion
