Very disappointing that a company of this size is so dysfunctional.
The good thingsGood salary- great staff facilities- nice building.
The challengesIn the short time I was working for Dell, 5 staff had left including managers. I found this company to be dysfunctional, blind leading the blind. There was no structural training in place. And when I asked for more training in certain fields, I was told by my manger to figure it out. Not helpful. I excepted more from a big successful company. While I am sure certain staff I worked with will learn from this experience it was one I removed myself From the disappointing situation.

It was truly disappointing to experience that a reputable company such as Dell EMC [1] allows for unprofessional senior management behavior and [2] preaches, but actually forbids family/work balance and work flexibility
The good thingsThe opportunity was promising
The challengesChallenges varied from lack of tools, governance and stakeholders required to work with to lack of senior management professionalism to allow for appropriate scoping and project performance and lack of family/work balance and work flexibility

    Burnt out.
The good thingsCollaborative teams with a focus on customer results.
The challengesSince Dell acquired EMC, they've gutted the healthcare allowance and stripped the awards program. For a company that preaches work/life balance, it is common to expect employees to just put in the extra hours no matter what.

Good perks but challenging when there are no projects assigned
The good thingsGood salary plus other benefits such as medical insurance etc.
The challengesIf you’re not on a project it can get challenging to stay motivated and to keep professional skills up to date. Unfortunately that was what I experienced for the most part of my time in Dell EMC, I was hired for a specific project but that project did not get approved.

Good job for a graduate. Not for a professional.
The good thingsGood place to work to start your career in IT.
The challengesWorkplace politics. Managers are the major roadblocks to your career development. No bonuses or commissions. Extremely restrictive work place. Managers even monitor toilet breaks and often complain.

Good while it lasted but would never go back. There are far more dynamic and interesting companies to work for.
The good thingsRelatively positive career progression if you are willing to play the game and do things that are best for management and not for the customers
The challengesHuge behemoth of a company that unfortunately has become very bureaucratic. I have had management tell me that its best just to do what senior management want and don't question anything and you will be fine. Read an article from Michael Dell stating that he encourages all teams internally to be \"creative, disruptive and think outside the box\" This is simply not true.
