    No training, just expectations
The good thingsKnock off time after working long hours
The challengesNot being given a chance to learn, even though they mentioned training was provided, techs expected me to know it all first day, i think they didn't want to lose their overtime, it was an unfriendly environment.

Challenging, stressful but rewarding with the future looking brighter
The good thingsMajority of the team was very supportive High quality design logistics-handling equipment Above average company benefits Potential for large amounts of overtime
The challenges"It's always been done this way" mentality exists to a large determent Initial training and support varied greatly depending on whom you were paired with 24/7 on-call placing alot of pressure on family when team numbers reduced

Love: Good experience of industrial maintenance work, stable income. Hate: management, double standards and lier among workmates.
The good thingsstable income. chances to learn and a few opportunities.
The challengesManagement is not so good esepecially if you are new. But still many thanks to my manager who recruited me and I did learn many things during my probation. One of the team mate lied right in front of my face to cover up his fault. shocking. They claim they are very strict with safty but they use double standards. As a new guy you will be sacked and for those who have already established their presents in the company it is nothing. One of the team mate who told me not to crawl under the rack jumpped and stood on the guide rail to reach and clear a fault on top transfer belt. what a joke. TIP to new and younger electrician. Go there and have a look but do go with some smaller electrical company in construction, commercial or residential work and you will gain more experience because as a maintenance electrician you won't get much chance to do projects and learn a lot of things for you to go your own way if you want to just like me.

The team I work with all feel the same way, management continually push to complete tasks without considering the time it takes to complete said tasks. Monetary compensation is woeful, management are completely incompetent and take no responsibility for there actions whatso ever.
The good thingsThere is nothing good about working at Dematic
The challengesContinual fight against management for fear and reasonable conditions

Great to be a part of a company with a strong future in automation!
The good thingsFast-paced working environment. Variance in your day-to-day - working several sites with differing automation technologies. Great team environment - very supporting and collaborative. Plenty of overtime! Majority of work in Perth metro area too - good to go home every night
The challenges24/7 requirements for some customers can be demanding. Also with some work on weekends (although leads to a good boost in overtime). Good to be able to swap shifts with colleagues when you need to

The good thingsExcellent culture and well supported by management and the senior management team. Heavy focus on Health, safety and wellbeing. Management investing heavily in the development of apprentices through to technicians and career development as a whole. It's a pleasure to work for a company that is so supportive.

Somehow this would have to be one of the most toxic cultures I have worked in, Despite the wfh flexibility.
The good thingsThe wfh model within the APAC software team is really good. Although if you are new on board this is counter productive and makes learning from your peers much more difficult especially when senior management, the guys that should be teaching you take the backseat even when you tell them how you need assistance.
The challengesGetting quality training is sometimes a reality. If you need help with something you will be scolded, and insulted for asking for help.

My time working for Dematic was short lived because I fell chronically ill and was unable to return to work but several of the staff that I had met had long term employment within the company so I guess that can speak for itself.
The good thingsClose to home, early start and early finish. Majority of staff easy to get along with.

    I enjoyed working at Dematic.
The good thingsWhen working in the office, there was a very good work-life balance. Working overtime was not normally expected. Management and the team I was working in were very friendly. Everyone on our team was highly motivated to deliver the best to the customers. The office is in a beautiful bushland location, accessible by bus.
The challengesDuring periods of site work, the hours were sometimes long, without compensation. You were expected to do the extra hours without pay, even as a contractor.
