Supporting young people with safety, structure and care.
The good thingsI’ve enjoyed working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, and where I can use my strengths in communication, de-escalation, and problem-solving. I’ve liked supporting daily operations, maintaining safety and routines, and contributing to positive outcomes through clear boundaries, documentation, and teamwork.
The challengesThe role can be demanding emotionally and mentally. What could be improved is stronger wellbeing support for example, more regular supervision, debriefing, and access to support after challenging incidents. Small changes like protected time for documentation and better planning around peak periods would also help staff stay organised and reduce stress.
