    Review for P&O Maritime. Avoid at all costs, about as bad as a job can be.
    The good thingsFlexible on days you worked
    The challengesCompany onboarding took 3 months to do. Expected to use your own money on international travel. Really poor systems and processes and all reluctant to change anything. Finance department is run well but other management is incredibly bad. As bad of an experience in a job that you could find, would never recommend anyone. No career progression opportunities and senior management has no interest in staff or their well being.

    Would not recommend to anyone
    The good thingsThe work itself is fine, and the pay is good.
    The challengesThe workplace culture is incredibly toxic, toolbox talks are no longer about safety, instead they are used to beat employees down and threaten them with disciplinary action. The management team micromanages everything you do and watches you under a microscope. The overall morale is incredibly low. The rostering has no concern for fatigue management and you will often find yourself working day, evening, night shift and then back to day shift within the span of a week. I would not recommend working for this company to anyone, especially new casuals who will likely be hired and left without a shift, waiting by the phone to pick up scraps.

    I like to work hard and keep myself busy but I'm not confident so I don't talk much, just listen to instructions, follow them and learn from my superiors.
    The good thingsWatch keeping,navigating and servicing engines and doing general clean up
    The challengesI don't like people who talk too much, and mooring and anchor lines...

    Overall my experience is good as driver, Now i can easly handle heavy load trailer and responsibilities. I got the confidents to do heavy trailer truck driver job anywhere.
    The good thingsAll staffs are friendly and good friendly atmosphere.
    The challengesTrucks they provided for me is too old bs3 model truck, With this trucks i faced many maintance issue day by day. No proper restroom or bathspace for drivers

    People like to knock the company, but its the premium employer in this industry. People at Brisbane look after each other.
    The good thingsGreat team, excellent camaraderie and management team at Brisbane all were promoted from the floor so understand the challenges of the job.
    The challengesIt can be hard and physical. Shipping schedules are present are relentless, but this means plenty of work. To and fro between union and company is all just politics and not for real benefit of members.

    The place was good to work at , now it’s gone down hill quickly and continual changes to the working environment are ordinary at best

    Few places will give the experience on heavy equipment maintenance and breakdowns, due to the amount of hours the machines work and the shear size of everything, challenging and rewarding.

    The challengesBad leadership, well out of touch with the workers. Preach safety but don’t enforce it. Currently in a bitter eba negotiation which is having the knock on effect to the work available.
