Overall, it's an okay company, but management is a bit hit or miss.
The good thingsSome staff were friendly. Customers were often lovely.
The challengesKPI's and the rewarding 'system' were degrading. Staff were expected to sell more than 3 items per sale. If I had put through 6 sales, and out of those 6 sales, only one didn't buy more than 2 items, SOME staff would receive 'feedback' that often felt more like lectures and a warning. Managers were good until I caught them disrespecting other team members in their conversations. The pressure to hold customers' hands while they were shopping was excessive and often made me feel uncomfortable to do. Overall, it's an okay company, but management is a bit hit or miss.

Quite a rewarding experience after all.
The good thingsGood pay rate and excellent team-mates.
The challengesThe promotions some times changes too often and it creates extra workload to the team.

The experience has been good. I have been supported in my store and I benefit being here. :)
The good thingsThe discount system, career progression, opportunities to work in different stores and how often training is supported on the shop floor and the joy of meeting different co-workers with different backgrounds and the small competitions we do for our target goals.
The challengesHead office needs to consider the physical and mental health of team members. They also should consider adding more hours for the random, sparse VM changes. I also think the communication between head office and stores REALLY needs to be improved.

So much stress and exhaustion just to sell some candles... Not worth it.
The good thingsThe team you work with instore. That's it.
The challengesLeft to work alone all day apart from a 3 hour lunch cover. Insanely high amount of workload expected to be completed in an unreasonable amount of time. They expect you to suffocate the customers and cling to them like a leech. You get berated if you don't sell 3 or more items to each customer. The area manager was horrible to work under because she would talk to you like you're a child, belittle you etc.

Beautiful Instore Team- Upper Management Do not care.
The good thingsI loved my team. I had the opportunity to work with a beautiful group of people that I formed such beautiful friendships with
The challengesLack of confidence in upper management. Not enough core stock. Very little care from Seniors with the exception of a couple of them. Being told about the company's ' new core values' which were not being lived by office staff. Poor communication with uppers, lack of care or consideration for teams.

Nicer place to work than most
The good things40% discount on full priced items. Pleasant retail environment surrounded by beautiful product. Great team members. Time usually passes quickly at work.
The challengesChange in CEO and management recently has sent the company in a different direction. I want my MoodMist oils back please. Can potentially only get one 3-hour shift per week depending on the time of year.

Rewarding and engaging I would rather cover 6 areas of a retail job in one day, than stand at a register all day.
The good thingsThere is new management that started last year when I did and they have changed their approaches for the better of the team and customers. I have never felt so heard, supported, appreciated by an Employer. Great Discounts Bonuses for all staff including casuals Fun sellable product Regular Training
The challengesOlder staff didn't appreciate these changes of expectation towards actually providing customer service rather than a focus on operations, so some quit. My only negatives are: the physical labour (candles are heavy), delay in VES details & marketing equipment sometimes, but the team are always on it!

The good thingsThe discount was nice and could be used whenever If they need the workers, the hours can be alright
The challengesStaff very clearly had “in-groups” Management was rude to you when you were “no longer needed” (aka overstaffed) Multiple staff members let go without notice

    Don’t recommend
The good thingsDecent training, easy job, didnt have to do jobs outside your role.
The challengesSome coworkers rude and difficult to work with. Managers would schedule you on for days outside your availability and tell you off when you didnt just show up. The upselling requirements and KPIs were insane

Maybe it was just my store but it was awful
The good things30% off items, some team member were kind
The challengesExtreme pressure to force customers into buying more than 3 items then extras on top. Even if you ask all the right questions and offer all the offers you are meant too and your customer only buys one or two items it is still your fault

    Greatest retail job out there
The good thingsGreat team and management, excellent processes and training provided. Achievable KPI's with great rewards and recognition.

The good thingsIt was fun working with the team and all being able to have a laugh and meeting people.
The challengesManagement is horrible, they don't care about the staff at all. their customers always comes first and no matter how good you do they don't see it, all they do is put pressure and stress on you and expect you to force customers to buy products just to make KPIs. Didn't train me properly and just expected me to know everything and had no support from no higher management

A fantastic and supportive place to work, but you must be willing to give 100% effort to KPIs, excellet customer service and keeping the store pristine.
The good thingsTight knit team environment. Supportive and encouraging.
The challengesHigh targets which you must remain positive about given the prescribed 'can do' culture.

Overall a good place to work at for a student or for casual work, but probably not the best job if you are looking to make a lot of money.
The good thingsVery flexible; able to study full time and work multiple shifts a week. Nice stores to work at, good at Christmas time.
The challengesNot many shifts available each week (usually only 2-3 shifts a fortnight), some unrealistic expectations from management, managers do not seem to follow KPI's and work like the casuals do, not much opportunity for growth other than acting manager (nothing further), never recognised for good KPI's, only for bad ones.

10/10 would not recommend working there.
The good thingsThe 30% discount on product and meeting some team members.
The challengesUpper management lie about job prospects and promise things that they can’t actually promise. They have unrealistic expectations of floor team. They are your “frontline” treat them like a HUMAN not a robot that can sell lighters to every customer. Management also need to understand that a lot of the time store teams need support that they aren’t receiving. Especially in NSW.

The good thingsPeople were nice depending where you worked, you get good pay and get good experience out of it. Good discounts.

Work above and beyond for little recognition or reward. The company is only about money rather than the well being of their employees.
The good thingsGreat team members and nice product.
The challengesHead office think you are a super hero and expect you to achieve a ridiculous amount of tasks in a day while still making budget. Goes too far with the “customer is always right” saying and if you follow policies and procedures you will end up in the wrong.
