    Care Manager
    Aug 2024
West Perth WA 60051 to 2 years in the role, former employee
Isolated, unsupported, unknown and made to feel a failure based on personal circumstances.
The good thingsWorking with the clients, some great team members
The challengesIs a sterile workplace with non existent culture. Management think culture is process, in my 12 months not once was there any interest in who I was. They manage by hiding behind process, I took two weeks leave after a marriage separation due to challenging personal circumstances after a week got a text on my personal phone saying check your emails, the email told me to return to work. No phone call, no question as to how I was, to that manager she had done her job. Worst piece of people management I have seen I my 35 years at work. That’s an example many others, Leadership is 20 years behind and they have no clue as to what it actually is. Turnover at care manager level is exceptionally poor and that starts with onboarding which has no structure , no support and no accountability. The person fails it is their fault they can’t handle it. Watched many slowly sink feeling unsupported and not feeling part of the team, but there is no team it’s individual. So think carefully before joining this company, the pay is also an industry low and client numbers an industry high, not a great picture unfortunately but it’s their reality

Gone bad since they were bought out by My home care
The good thingsBeautiful clients. Some good work mates on ground level that do everything they can to help their clients .
The challengesEverything, bad management, terrible communication, sub standard care for clients on a clinical level, scheduling in a completely different city so have no idea of travel timings or clients needs and I don't think they actually care ,no support for staff, after hours is from 2pm in WA because we follow the east , constantly having clients and families upset because no one gets back to them .

    Unorganised company with no structure.
The good thingsSome lovely people who really want to make a difference in the aged care space.
The challengesNo training at all, you are thrown in the deep end and have to teach yourself. No training or procedure manuals/SOP's, which is unheard of for a company like this. Management are all over the place. Clients constantly calling to complain that no one has showed up. Lovely Support Workers for the most part, but with no experience or training. Phone system is a mess. Terrible communication
