What’s it like working at Eureka Furniture?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees consistently praise the store-level teams at Eureka Furniture, describing colleagues as hardworking, supportive, and friendly. Many appreciate the quality furniture products and the positive work environment in stores. Several reviewers highlight supportive regional managers and head office teams, along with opportunities for growth and flexibility with time off in certain roles.

However, there are some potential challenges to consider. Some employees have noted that the management approach can involve close oversight with decisions requiring multiple approvals. The commission and bonus structure changes frequently, which can make it difficult to benefit from. Workload expectations can be high, with staff managing multiple responsibilities beyond sales. Some reviewers mention that career progression opportunities may be limited in certain areas, and the onboarding process could be more structured. Staff turnover has been observed, which can place additional pressure on existing teams, and base pay rates are at award levels in some roles.

High Stress, Low Recognition, and Poor Accountability
The good thingsThe Instore Team were great to deal with.
The challengesOverall, a difficult and frustrating place to work. Constantly shifting goals: Targets change frequently with little notice, making it hard to succeed. Poor communication: Stores are often the last to know, despite being on the front line. Lack of accountability: Head office and senior management rarely take ownership when issues arise, leaving store teams to deal with the consequences. High workload, low reward: Long hours and burnout are common, with limited pay or recognition. Low support: Employee wellbeing doesn’t feel like a priority; staff can feel like numbers rather than valued team members. Effort goes unnoticed: Initiative is often met with scrutiny rather than encouragement. Verdict: Not recommended if you’re looking for clear communication, accountability, fair pay, and recognition for your work.

Low Pay, Poor Commission, and Very Little Support from Management
The good thingsThe only real positive is the store-level teams. Many colleagues are hardworking, supportive, and do their best to create a positive environment despite the challenges.
The challengesMy experience working at Eureka Furniture was extremely disappointing. Staff are frequently left feeling unsupported, overworked, and undervalued, with very little transparency or follow-through from management. Concerns raised by employees often go unheard, and accountability from leadership is lacking. Pay is very low for the workload expected, and the commission structure is poor and difficult to benefit from, making it hard for staff to feel fairly rewarded for their efforts. Combined with high expectations and limited support, this creates a very frustrating work environment. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for fair pay, strong support, or a healthy workplace culture.

    Amazing Work Culture
The good thingsWorking at this company has been a truly positive experience. From the very beginning, I felt welcomed by a supportive and professional team that genuinely values collaboration and respect. The work environment is both motivating and inclusive, which makes it easy to stay engaged and perform at your best. One of the things I appreciate most is the leadership. Management communicates clearly, listens to employee feedback, and encourages growth and development. There are plenty of opportunities to learn new skills, take on meaningful responsibilities, and advance professionally. The company also does a great job of recognizing employees’ contributions. Hard work is appreciated, and team achievements are celebrated, which helps build strong morale across the organization. Overall, it’s a great place to work if you’re looking for a positive culture, supportive colleagues, and opportunities to grow in your career. I’m grateful to be part of such a dedicated and forward-thinking team.
The challengesNothing that I can think of at the moment
