What’s it like working at Focus On Furniture?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees appreciate the supportive team environment at Focus On Furniture, with friendly colleagues who work well together. Many note the opportunities for career growth and development, supported by approachable leadership. The commission structure is valued by sales consultants, as it rewards all sales rather than only those above target. Employees also enjoy the well-priced product range that is regularly updated, and many find the work/life balance to be reasonable.

However, there are some potential challenges, including communication between head office and stores, which could be more consistent to ensure changes reach all staff promptly. Management styles vary across different stores and levels, with some employees experiencing more supportive environments than others. Achieving sales targets can be challenging during quieter periods, and some sales consultants find the workload expectations demanding with multiple responsibilities. Additionally, working weekends is a regular requirement of the role.

Unhappy work environment and feel powerless to do anything about it.
The good thingsSelling and the furniture. The company has a good range and is well-priced. The company has a decent commission structure.
The challengesFront‑line workers are not valued, and the workplace culture needs stronger support systems. Staff should have a confidential space to talk openly about those in management without worrying that their concerns will be used against them. With new management stepping in, many of us are hopeful that these issues will finally be addressed.
