A deeply rewarding role that allows you to create lasting change in young people’s lives.
The good thingsI’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to work directly with children and young people and see the impact of genuine advocacy in their lives. The role allows for meaningful, purpose-driven work where lived experience and professional insight are both valued. The team culture is supportive, flexible, and empowering, and there’s a strong emphasis on trauma-informed and person-centred practice.
The challengesLike many roles in the human services sector, the work can be emotionally demanding, and navigating complex systems or external agencies can sometimes be challenging. However, these challenges are part of what makes the role so impactful and rewarding.

My experience reflects a disconnect between management and frontline staff, resulting in ineffective decision-making and a lack of support for both service delivery and employee wellbeing.
The good thingsBeing able to see the young people in our care flourish.
The challengesManagement is out of touch with program needs, lacks a client-focused approach, and shows little respect for the staff delivering services directly. The absence of communication and consultation leads to poor decision-making and unsatisfactory outcomes. Additionally, there is a noticeable disregard for staff wellbeing and needs.

I have loved my first few months being a part of the Foundations Care community and hope I can be here for some time.
The good thingsEveryone is so welcoming and willing to help. The flexibility of the work from home hours is perfect for my young family and the Managers are all accommodating. The job itself is very interesting and it is rewarding seeing the difference our company makes in other's lives.
The challengesWorking from home can have its challenges with forming work relationships and sometimes learning different things on the job. However, I would not change it as I still love the job and the flexibility that comes with it.

Foundations Care has enabled me to be my best professional self while allowing me room to still be the best parent I can be.
The good thingsFoundations Care is extremely family focused and places huge importance on work/home balance. The flexibility and support I have in my role means I can also be a present parent and I have no work or parent guilt when one role demands more time.
The challengesWorking from home means connections and relationships are harder and take longer to build but as working from home is my preferred option, it's a challenge I'm willing and able to work on and meet.
