Genuine people doing genuine work for empowerment of their clients and each other.
The good thingsMy first impression of Frontier Software after speaking with team members and meeting management is that this is a people organisation. Real people, doing real work, to help other people - whether that be for internal or external stakeholders, through to the focus of support and development. Many organisations claim to have a supportive and quality-based culture (not limited to internal), however not many actually make good on this. Frontier Software is one of the rare few. People achieve results because they are treated as so.
The challengesNot so much a challenge, but rather a recommendation - Questions are highly encouraged and there is a lot to learn , so as a working adult you will need to proactive and take responsibility to ensure you ask additional questions during your induction to get clarifications and cement your knowledge base.

I'm in the sales team and we have a great manager and a great culture. Really love coming to work every day. Would recommend Frontier as a place to work.
The good thingsLots of opportunities to move into a different role - the company is very open to hiring from within. Working from home is no problem - only one day a week required at the office to meet with your team. Work life balance is good. My manager is great!
The challengesNormal challenges you see in any company. Nothing significant. It is easy to be happy here if you want to be.

An enjoyable place to work with great opportunities.
The good thingsGreat people and the best payroll solution in the market. Opportunities to develop and learn.
The challengesDevelopment takes a long time
CEOThank you for your kind words. We agree, we do offer the best payroll solution in the market. We are working to improve the velocity of our development in order to get product to market faster. But, given the importance of accuracy of payroll, our commitment to getting software releases right the first time is more important than getting them done quickly. That’s all down to our people and the opportunities they have to learn and grow in the role. Keep up the good work!

A great company to work for. Highly recommended.
The good thingsI admire the way Frontier always advertises roles internally, and encourages existing employees to apply. There is plenty of opportunity to progress your career, if you want it. Work life balance is great with only one day a week required at the office. I've noticed a lot of employees have worked here for a very long time, which is refreshing. I'm very happy with my decision to join Frontier Software.
The challengesThere are all the usual challenges. Change is constantly in motion and moves slowly. Some departments are understaffed which has a flow-on effect to the rest of the business.
CEOThank you for your feedback. Frontier Software recognises the importance of fostering staff development and will always make any vacancy known to internal as well as external candidates. The tenure of our employees is a testament to both the working environment, and the opportunities provided for career development and progression. Resourcing is something we take very seriously and there are processes in place to identify staffing requirements. In such a competitive market, we must compete hard to secure the best talent and this can sometimes take longer than we would like. As you probably know, the result of patience is the quality of colleagues with whom you work.

Enjoyed my time with frontier software
The good thingsThe people are fantastic
The challengesMore food options close by
CEOThank you for your feedback. We agree, there is a terrific group of people working at Frontier Software that are committed to delivering the best HCM solution in the market. COVID has significantly affected the Melbourne food scene, but we’re noticing a slow improvement as more of us return to the offices. We’re sure it won’t be long until you’ll be spoiled for choice.

Great company to consider as "home"
The good thingsGreat management process, staff well-being consideration, great salary, healthy and sustainable environment for your long-lasting career
The challengesneed to have more casual dress code
CEO.Thank you or your feedback. We agree, Frontier Software is the home to a terrific group of dedicated and professional people. We are committed to ensuring the wellbeing of our employees. Apart from our pulse surveys, employee assistance programs and flexible working policies, it is incumbent on both the management and staff to look out for each other. Dress codes are always a challenge in an organisation that has both client-facing and ‘back office’ roles. Apart from ensuring that we treat all employees equally, we must maintain and reflect a professional standard to every office visitor, be they client or supplier.

    Customer Service Role
    Nov 2019
    For many years wonderful.
The good thingsEasy to get to location.
The challengesChanging conditions without staff consult; eg. start and finish times. Departments having different benefits, no equal treatment, one if time for appointment (medical) one dept can make up time another is leave without pay. Time in lieu not offer to all, even when working into breaks or finishing late due to customer service requirement.
Frontier SoftwareThank you for providing your feedback and for your length of service. We note your comments with interest. Frontier Software has clearly described policies available via the intranet and these should apply to all staff. Of course, there will be times and areas of the business where operational constraints may prevent some employees from enjoying some benefits. Although we may prefer that it was not the case, it is sometimes an unavoidable reality in business. We encourage you to escalate your concerns to your manager and / or the HR department.

Always learning, no two days are the same !
The good thingsYou have a voice and you are listened too
The challengesThere are some departmental silos but Mansgement does have a charter to break them down.
Frontier SoftwareThank you for your comments. It’s gratifying to note that employees recognise Frontier Software as an employer that both encourages staff to speak up, and welcomes and considers staff views and feedback. From our staff engagement surveys and other mechanisms, management is aware that silo mentality can be an issue. A number of initiatives have been implemented to address this and to improve cross unit collaboration. To date, we are pleased with the increasing levels of collaboration and cooperation shown by our teams and hope you’ve noticed it too. If not, please do speak up. Suggestions are always welcome.

Great culture, great management, recognition when you put in the hard yards and great people.
The good thingsThe managers are very supportive Work/Life balance is encouraged If you choose to shine above the rest you will get rewarded and noticed Great culture CEO & CTO are very approachable and will give you the time of the day unlike most companies I have worked for
The challengesOrganisation and clients are growing at a rapid rate Having a more transperency operation across the global brand Understanding the vast amount of products offered
CEOThank you for your feedback and kind words. Frontier Software is a dynamic business and, like all businesses, has challenges to address. A great deal of work is being done to support transparency across the business. Product roadshows for staff, the staff newsletter, online and instructor led training and our intranet are all examples of the resources to which staff have access. We are continuing to devise other means by which the team can keep abreast of product offerings and company developments.

It was great and I am very thankful for the opportunities given to me.
    The good thingsThe learning opportunities
    The challengesThe strict start/finish times
Frontier SoftwareThank you for your feedback and years of service. It’s great to know you recognised and appreciated the learning opportunities available at Frontier Software. As you would recall, the area in which you worked has a contractual obligation to be available to our customers over a specified timeframe each work day and after business hours. That certainly limits how flexible we can be with team rosters, but it is not the case within most other parts of the business.

Lack of quality training provided to consultants
The good thingsConstantly learning the products new features
The challengesRelevant/accurate training information information was not provided
Frontier SoftwareThank you for leaving your feedback. The Frontier Software solution is always evolving and it can be challenging for internal resources to maintain their knowledge. To support them, there are release notes, classroom training and, more recently, online learning modules, all of which are accurate and up-to-date. Additionally, the consulting team now has a technical expert tasked with providing one-on-one technical support to the team.
