Too laid back in the office and higher ups not visionary enough
The good thingsGreat Office, open plan. Laid back team, easy parking, close to food and other amenities.
The challengesHigher ups dictatorial, jobs given to favourites, ndis was too much for this NGO to handle and it went into administration after I left.

Great frontline staff, terrible Executive managers
The good thingsFrontline staff are committed and passionate about assisting others to live the life they choose for themselves.
The challengesExecutive Team have made consistently poor decisions, overspent on unnecessary things such as office renovations, appointed friends to Senior and Executive roles without merit & absolutely awful lack of planning for the well publicised change to the NDIS.

Deeply disappointed that I could not assist the customers achieve their goals due to being held back by an incompetent organisation.
The good thingsThe customers and majority of support staff I worked with are fantastic.
The challengesUpper management are completely incompetent in their roles and have no idea on how to assist their staff and provide appropriate services to the customer. Management are condescending towards customers and support staff in the belief that they know the customer better than the customer knows themselves.

Very toxic environment that is very much profit driven for advancement of senior management at the cost of staff and clients.
The good thingsThe opportunity to work with some great people and young people.
The challengesManagement, very poor support from them and no consistency. Not being valued or treated in a respectful manner, absolutely no consideration for staff or their well-being.

Lovely people I met and worked alongside. Micromanaged. We’re willing to ask for input into projects and ideas but never followed through on anything. The customers are the key!
The good thingsCustomers and people we walk alongside are treated as family
The challengesMiddle and senior management have no idea how to run their businesses. Areas miss out due to time and money spent in non accessible areas.

Very rewarding working with customers, very disappointing management philosophies.
The good thingsThe customers! are really wonderful and appreciate everything staff do, including addressing their needs and all the extras that staff do to make their life even more enjoyable.
The challengesManagement constantly encouraging staff to put complaints in about other staff. No appreciation for what all the staff achieve and how much they do to improve the lives of the customers, just criticism for any mistakes the staff make.
