Great experience working in GE with a lot of pressure, but everything worth of it.
The good thingsGE is a massive global organization where full of talents. I quickly build up all the skills working for GE, as this is a very fast pace company with huge payroll.
The challengesThe payroll is huge. I looked after around 5000 people on the monthly payroll in different business units. Therefore, there were a lot of changes every month.

Challenging, exhausting, appalling, old fashioned, doesn’t foster creativity, diversity and equality. Management is backwards it’s very much too down only and making the most invalid decisions. They don’t care about their staff managers are only about sel
The good thingsClose to home. The job was fairly easy and didn’t require additional work outside of work.
The challengesLack of clearly articulated processes and efficient/updated systems. Management micromanages everything leaving little or no room for creativity despite seeking for feedback they will ignore them making it challenging for us to be supported. There is a toxic atmosphere in the current call centre with people being hostile and management allowing such behaviour and practices. Also a perception from others departments which think call centre workers are uneducated and therefore a lack of respect and appreciation.

    Glad it's over.
The good thingsDecent pay and fair redundancy payouts, (there have been many)
The challengesComplete lack of direction. Relentless insistence on exporting Australian jobs to India where the wages are less, even at the expense of customer relationships & damaging the business. Terrible managers all focused on self promotion & without any commitment to service & product delivery. A truly terrible working environment.

It is a good company, but the management does not care about their employees. So, if you value your personal life and expending quality time with your family, you should avoid GE.
The good thingsBenefits are good. Great opportunities to learn.
The challengesYou are expected to be connected 24/7 with no consideration for work-life balance, and you should not expect to be rewarded or even recognized for it.

Overall experience is good, sidelining minor factions which operate in 90s era.
The good thingsGreat brand ownership among employees, top level management easy to approach and listens and acts on responses from employees
The challengesCertain divisions acquired by GE in the past decade tend, which previously were separate companies, tend to carry their traditional methods of operations, leading to favourisms, groupism, etc.

A company in flux that needs to quickly change from it's established long term processes in order to survive in a more competitive, commercial market.
The good thingsNothing really comes to mind
The challengesPoor management and despite promoting 'FastWorks' everything still moves at a snails pace if it moves at all. Little focus on improving quality, delivering on time or to budget.

The good things1. Good culture in general 2. Workplace flexibility pretty good 3. Good supporting environment in helping achieve goals and targets.
The challenges1. Slow career progression despite taking initiative in driving growth. 2. Poor business model in making sales which negatively impacted my employment 3. Unrealistic expectations in targets to meet for sales 4. Lack of recognition in remuneration and awards for working hard and going above and beyond. 5. Very low salary, way below market range.

    Very flexible environment
The good thingsVery agile/flexible working environment. Opportunity to work in different offices. Very open to catering to the needs of the employee. Plenty of opportunities for training and development.
The challengesAs with most global company, processes are long and it takes a while to be executed - meaning lots of missed opportunities. Horizontal structure means that everyone has an opinion and no decisions actually get made, which can be frustrating.
