    horrible tbh
The good thingsRegular customers were lovely, great atmosphere, free drinks, chill shifts
The challengesNot being paid properly (as in the correct rate and no weekend rates) toxic work environment, management was horrible, getting put on cafe/all rounder position but doing management jobs such as cash closing and running shift but not a manager

Work itself is enjoyable but there is horrendous communication and management from higher-ups which makes performing your job difficult - RFG does not care about it's employees whatsoever.
The good thingsThe products are good, it is enjoyable to make coffee and get to know your regulars. Good coworkers improve the job.
The challengesI've worked at two different Gloria Jean's stores and there was an utter lack of communication between head-office and employees both times. We were often left in the dark and that made it impossible to provide high quality customer service. It's as if they want their own brand to fail - no genuine efforts to hire new employees when understaffed, an inability to manage and maintain stock levels, a lax attitude to malfunctioning equipment.

Highly recommend working at Gloria Jean's Coffees, as it offers great work/life balance and I enjoyed the reassurance of being able to get a staff discount for buying foods :)
The good thingsBeing able to make and get free drinks for free. I can enjoy them during my shift when it's not busy rush hours. I also enjoyed working with my colleagues as it's quite divers and we all get along with each other well. I can also drink ice coffee whenever I wanted.
The challengesProbably dealing with aggressive or disrespectful customers. Having to deal with the customer complaints such as the customer not believing my explanation. By working under pressure, but through an effort of teamwork I managed to pull it together.

Good when in high school but terrible payrate and management would punish you if you had to take sick days.
The good thingsIs a good starting job for school students as working hours are flexible
    The challengesBad management and understaffed

My overall experience was great and I enjoy hospitality.
The good thingsThe amount of hours worked well for me at the time between my schooling years. The management was good because I wasn't micro-managed, but we still had lots of help during a rush.
The challengesThe first half of working at this company was difficult because of my difficult experience to 'fit in' with the other colleagues. I pulled through, and ended up enjoying my job once I got older.

    Disorganised chaos
The good thingsRelatively short shifts, awesome regular customers and a small staff so everyone knows each other really well.
The challengesShifts cut back to less than 5 hours a week, called in with less than 30 mins notice on several occasions, roster consistently only done the day before the work week starts and never more than a week ahead. Bosses critical in a non constructive way

The good thingsI loved the people I worked with, and the environment I worked in.
