Happy with the employer and the role, however there is always a challenge with 'change managers'.
The good thingsIt is very flexible and the team is highly supportive
The challengesLike with any business there is always room to improve communication downstream.

Incompetence and very un safe work practices . Highly antiquated equipment and silos will cause injuries in the future . Middle management at site and region level is border line standover tactics that is very clicky if your not part of it you will be ostracised and blamed for thier mistakes. No on job training left to figure where you are and what to do .
The good thingsThe truck drivers from other companies
The challengesManagement on all levels. Truck drivers from other companies asking and beting on how long new people will last.

Horrible morale from top to bottom, just a paycheck
The good thingsWages and benefits. I would only come for the wage and turn your brain off at the front gate or you will go mental trying to understand how dysfunctional this place is
The challengesRostering, no training, zero help , lack of management, no maintenance of very old equipment and infrastructure, terrible working environment physically and mentally, lack of PPE. Have a look at how many jobs are advertised...the staff turnover is appalling it shows the engagement is so low

Good way to make a quick buck, however long hours
The good thingsVery good pay for little time. I recommend for younger people who are looking for work partially around harvest.
The challengesThis work is very repetitive and can make you very exhausted.

    Poor management and company ethics.
The good thingsThe job itself is easy.
The challengesLocals have priority on work shifts over foreigners. Very discriminative workplace that doesn’t reward the hard work. Poor management and clear lack of communication from managers.

Good work environment but everything is brought down by poor management
The good thingsThe people you work with. Pay was decent, opportunity to make a lot during harvest season. Work was easy once you learnt the basics.
The challengesManagement don't respect their workers. Unrealistic expectations put on workers and no chance of career progression because management don't care about their staff as people. Staff are treated to feel like they are disposable/replaceable. No job security.

    Purpose. Good people. Great work!
The good thingsI get to work for a company where we are a part of a really important process - feeding people! So many people are from the land and it feels like we are all working for the same goal. The people who work here are also great!
The challengesDrought can obviously put a lot of stress on a agribusiness but GNC has worked to limit this impact on the business as much as it can.

Great team culture and opportunities where the work varies every year as a result of seasonal and market conditions
The good thingsThe people make GrainCorp a great place to work with a strong team culture across a wide Geographical area. There are lots of opportunities to develop and progress in across a number of business units.
The challengesThe highs and lows of bumper years and droughts provide different challenges each and every year. Planning and access to capital is variable each year as a result of seasonal conditions.

Great people, interesting experiences and rewarding work.
The good thingsThe people at GrainCorp are undoubtedly what makes it such a great place to work. Everyone is passionate about what we do and driven by a high standard of productivity. I have also thoroughly enjoyed opportunities to travel in my role and network extensively, and my job is rewarding on a personal and professional level.
The challengesThere can be an expectation to deliver a high production of work with limited resources or time. This is often driven by the volatile nature of the industry and financial pressures faced in difficult (drought) years. Many roles are also heavily dominated by males as a matter of industry tradition and I feel the company could always do more to rectify this.

Great people, great company, great opportunities....
The good thingsGrainCorp is all about the people. It has great assets, but its the people that make it a great business and place to work. If you have a good work ethic then GrainCorp is the place for you to advance your career, you don't need to have an agricultural background to succeed there either. There are diverse roles available and you can work pretty much anywhere on the East Coast.
The challengesDroughts are challenging, but GrainCorp has done a great job of setting the Org structure up for those years now.
