    A big career mistake!
The good thingsParental leave, 9 day fortnight, office infrastructure
The challengesZero transparent process where employees can raise workplace concerns and seek help. People who raise concern regarding workplace environment and leadership style are pushed out instead of giving them a fair chance to move to other leadership team and perform. No environment of psychological safety and zero opportunity to work independently and manage client service delivery. Partner expect employees to be mind readers and work exactly how the partner expects with zero direction. It is a my way or highway leadership style. Employees are often judged, not trusted and assumed that they are liars and don't have integrity.

Lack of leadership, accountability and fairness
The good thingsGenerally good clients to work with 9-day fortnight (in principle) Good facilities Free gym membership Good EAP program Inclusive workplace overall
The challengesTo name a few cons: - Partners promote people based on their agendas. - The review cycle lacks transparency, consistency in approach and fairness. - Lack of leadership from most partners/directors. - Poor behaviours are protected / no accountability. - Pay is below market. - No bonus.

Toxic workplace. Worst career experience to date.
The good thingsSome of the people & benefits
The challengesToxic and uninspiring leaders who only value budgets and employees who are willing to sacrifice all aspects of their life for Grant Thornton. People that are not willing to do this get pushed out, publicly criticised and compared to other team members. Boast about having benefits (e.g. 9 day fortnight) to lure people in but in reality leaders do not want employees to work 9 day fortnights due to their obsession with budgets. No flexibility. Far worse culture than competitor firms. Minimal prospects for career progression / success unless you are willing to do the job of two people for average pay. Anyone that is

Not the place if you want to grow and learn in your professional career.
The good thingsHard to think about. Some of the people there are really nice to work with. This is the minority.
The challengesDo not have the supportive culture that they boast about. If you want a job where you will be supported to grow and learn in your professional career this is not the company for you to join.

Toxic environment - Do not apply if you do not want to hate your job
The good thingsNone at all - do not apply
The challenges-Managers WITHOUT ANY managerial skills to manage a team. To the partners, Open your EYES and look at HOW they manage NOT only clients but staff. - PROFIT over everything - Low pay, long hours - TOXIC CULTURE on the floor (please look at it yourself instead of relying on people feeding you information and reports) - Good, hardworking people LEAVE quick. This is a RED FLAG ignored - Lack of appreciation and understanding - Flexibility is NON EXISTENT across all levels. I understand it is JUST FOR PUBLICITY - ONLY INCONSISTENCIES in the team - NO-VALUE for different perspectives/thinking. You WILL only SUCCEED if you are a GOOD follower who BLINDLY follows.

Find a Company with better culture.
The good thingsThe employee benefits are good & flexibility with working from home.
The challengesManagement lacks greatly - although the benefits are good that won't keep me in the role. The company lacks the culture they claim and boast that they have.
