    poor conditions and poor pay
The good thingsfellow drivers and most passengers.
The challengesdriving up and down the highway in the dark while getting paid a day rate to work nights and weekends, management are insensitive, caring more about profit and the buses than drivers, and the red buses have a zillion km and falling apart. very patchy support from operations, if you ask for a mechanic it can take 3 or 4 hours for a call back. if you make a mistake they are quick to fire you. supervisor spends all day trying to find a reason to remove time from your timesheet.

    Would not recommend.
The good thingsWhen we not at work.
The challengesExtremely low wages and long hours compared to other places. Toxic workplace culture and very high staff turnover levels. Expected to attend team meetings on days off and not paid for our time.

Great culture and flexibility, with room to improve training and communication
The good thingsEasy-going culture, strong pay rates, fun monthly BBQs, and good recognition for long service. Flexible and WFH options make work–life balance a real positive.
The challengesDepartment integration and communication could be stronger, and the organisation would benefit from more structured training and development pathways.

Greyhounds priority is their investors. Drivers are treated like garbage. They don’t care!
The good thingsI enjoyed the driving n routes n friendly passengers
The challengesBus maintenance is disgraceful. Customer service are useless. Operations aren’t there to support the drivers. Management have no grasp on the realities of being a driver. You literally get paid better being an urban driver. $37 flat rate, it’s a joke!

Great company, great staff, being able to cover numerous positions
The good thingsAbsolutely loved my job I worked out of the Darwin branch was lucky enough to have the opportunity to cover the freight side of the business as well as the travel side booking passengers.
The challengesGreyhound had services going from Darwin to Broome as well as Darwin to Adelaide one of the biggest challenger was when one of the buses broke down and they’ve got passengers and freight on board, we also dealt with rock throwers smashing windows of freight being stolen.

I enjoy the driving and was good at my job but that doesn’t count here unfortunately.
The good thingsIf you avoid their constant cost cutting and ultra frugal measures buses etc the money is ok
The challengesDrivers are the constant target and victims of middle management job justification who otherwise wouldn’t be needed for the most part.
