Supportive teamwork, but challenges with management style.
The good thingsI really enjoyed the strong sense of teamwork within the organisation. Colleagues were supportive, collaborative, and willing to help each other succeed, which created a positive environment and made day‑to‑day work feel productive and rewarding.
The challengesAt times, micromanagement and favouritism affected the overall work culture. Clearer communication, more trust in staff, and fairer treatment across the team would help create a more balanced and empowering workplace.

Soul destroying & demoralising. Unrealistic expectations & workloads. Horrendous!
The good thingsMost of the anazing team
The challengesEverything! Despite what they “say” Healthscope always puts profit above patient safety & staff welfare. The staff are literally flogged & despite their best efforts it’s never good enough & the patients receive sub standard care. Meeting KPI’s is the single most important factor. The managers spend much of their day attending meetings that achieve absolutely nothing in reality. The high turnover in staff is never questioned???????

Working with Healthscope at the Private hospital (National Capital Private Hospital Canberra) I had a great team to work with as well as the combination of doctors, surgeons, OTs, specialist, etc. That all worked well together. With all above working to active a patient centered environments for all patients and families for a good outcome of their stay.
The good thingsGreat Manager and good team environment, well supported with training that is on going, good HR and easy to talk to, room for change in wards ICU, CCI, Medical and surgical wards as well as day surgical ward.
The challengesNot enough time to write handover notes

The company only runs for profit. There is no respect or staff. They make excuses for everything. They do not follow standards of practice. If you want your registration to be on the line every shift work here. They do not listen nor respect staff. Run while you can.
The good thingsYour work colleagues are the only reason to go to work
The challengesManagement, all they care about is profit

I enjoyed my time working with Healthscope due to the quality of the people I was working with, but the corporation does not focus on patient care - the focus is solely on appeasing shareholders; unfortunately as per most corporations.
The good thingsGreat people, good working environment.
The challengesUpper management; hell-bent on KPI's and lowering costs to the detriment of both staff and patients.

I used to enjoy working there but quickly became unhappy and overworked. Staff shortages and toxic workplace means everyone is miserable.

Northern Beaches Hospital is simply a fantastic place to work!
The good thingsWonderful people at all levels, and across the business. Inspiring and compassionate executives and people leaders. Exceptional staff at the top of their game, working collaboratively to achieve excellence. Plenty of opportunity to grow and enact positive change.
The challengesSome system and processes can be improved. Notwithstanding, there's a positive culture of continuous improvement so these challenges will be a thing of the past in the near future.

This company has poor ethics and a toxic workplace culture, run and don't look back.
The good thingsA couple of my colleagues were lovely, but also quite dispirited with the company's reliance on customers, not patients.
The challengesManagement is rigid and non-inclusive. Always cost cutting on healthcare delivery. High turnover of dissatisfied staff. Poor workplace culture and practice permeates through to head office executive.
