I would steer clear of working here.
The good thingsThe majority of the lower level staff are friendly.
The challengesThe owner seems more interested in cooking scones with the staff than listening to advise on where improvements can be made. If you're not in the "gang" then life can be difficult for you. There are some toxic staff members.

Hotondo Homes offers numerous growth opportunities in a dynamic, collaborative environment. The supportive and approachable culture helps employees enhance their skills while contributing to the company’s success.
The good thingsHotondo Homes an exceptional place to work, especially for growth-seeking and career-minded professionals. The company offers a variety of learning opportunities, where employees are encouraged to take on new challenges and explore their skill sets, fostering a dynamic and engaging work environment. What makes Hotondo Homes different is the collaborative work culture and the support from colleagues, making it a great place to enhance your skills while helping the company grow simultaneously. One thing I personally love the most is that everyone is approachable, which helps a lot in understanding the business and working together to achieve common goals.

Waste of time and a huge financial loss as based on retainer plus commission, still waiting for commissions to be paid.
The good thingsThe Franchise Model is OK but the product and designs are not conducive with Queensland buyer needs and most plans need to be modified to comply with QDC and Qld Code requirements. Good advertising and marketing support from Master Franchise.
The challengesPoor Management, lack of pricing structure, no urgency in completing pre-contract phases, lack of supplier or trade support, extremely long build times and very dissatisfied customers precluding any referral or repeat business.

Been very trying at times but worth it when commissions start to come through.

The challengesCan be very slow to get things started. Reliant on a lot of outside factors when it comes to commission being paid

Ensuring the journey of building their Dream Home is just that, a fantastic and rewarding experience
The good thingsYou can make as much money as opportunities and your ability allows. Great product, established reputation and service. Excellent sales training and support. Management are willing to listen, take new ideas on board and adapt. This can be a great opportunity if your are entrepreneurial and wish to have the advantages of owning a business without the normally associated overheads that incurs.
The challengesNot normally a Salary Position, remuneration is based on a retainer plus commission or perhaps commission only. You will need to verify this and make sure you are financially able to survive and hopefully flourish in this type of environment. You need to be disciplined, sincere and be motivated helping people make one of the most important investment and lifestyle choices in their life. If you have built a new home with a builder, have sound business acumen, sales experience and thrive on helping people this could be the sales/business opportunity for you!
