Not the company any sincere carer wants to work for.
The good thingsSupporting clients in their day to day activities, and assisting them to achieve goals that they have set is extremely rewarding.
The challengesManagement is top heavy .. You will not be appreciated nor given room for advancement. HR is NOT looking out for you. Very disappointing over all.

it’s a chapter I’ll always look back on with appreciation.
The good thingsAfter working at Independence Australia for over a year, I can confidently say it’s been an incredibly rewarding experience—largely thanks to the amazing People Experience team. From day one, I felt welcomed, supported, and genuinely valued.

West Footscray VIC 30121 to 2 years in the role, former employee
I would 100% work in key accounts again. Overall a good workplace but can have its challenges.
The good thingsThere is thorough training. Salary packaging. Customer service officers have opportunities to advance to the key accounts team, although job openings are rare. The key account supervisor is extremely helpful, understanding and friendly. Monthly and quarterly rewards programs.
The challengesCustomer service can be hard. There were lots of complaints in my time from customers - which did improve by the end. No flexibility in regards to working from home. All work must be in the office. Upper management have no clue what the customer service team go through.

A great workplace with good people working towards a good and common cause!
The good thingsThis place has some amazing people to work with. Once you connect with the cause, it will keep you going. I have grown and learned a lot during my journey with Independence Australia.
The challengesIndependence Australia has grown exponentially and I feel they are facing the challenges with coping with the rapid growth. I would see this as an opportunity rather than a challenge.

The good thingsGreat managers and work place culture. Lots of opportunity to upskill, with managers who support you in your development.
The challengesThe organisation is large, growing and busy. However, this offers lots of opportunity to develop and grow as a professional. I left the organisation ready to take a step up.

Phone staff are overworked and barely supported.
The good thingsProvides a valuable service to the community.
The challengesPoor training, often held at 7am. Tiny floor staff dealing with up to 2000 calls a day. Unsupportive, often rude management. Long hours with mandatory overtime. Little room for retraining due to low staff/high call numbers. Ineffective HR.

The good thingsWorking with lovely clients
The challengesAll contact is through email and texts. You will have connection to the workplace. You don’t know who your boss is because you’re never told anything. After 15 years they have no clue who I am. Not a place to feel valued and supported.
