The challengesA lot of false personalities along with an unhealthy emphasis on reaching KPI’s.

Love the product and the customers- sadly the company does not seem to want to listen to frontline staff to improve sales or maybe just the upper management who are to scared to challenge and push for improvement for fear of losing their jobs. all I was told in my time there was i should be thank full I have a job - I came with years of experience and lots of other offers so I didn't need to be thankful to them. Not a way to run a business if you want improvement or happy staff or to retain staff
The good thingsOnly the people I got to work with in my store and centre
The challengesMicro managed but not in a good way . Not open to listen to managers and staff who have experience and frontline feedback. Not flexible with stock needs regional too scared to keep job to help question and ask for what is outside the square to help business.they just want key holders not managers to improve business.

Ok for young people / uni students as a casual or part time job but would not recommend for full time or career. There is no work/ life balance and they really do not care about mental well-being or staff it’s just about productivity $$ and how they can
The good thingsPart of just group brand umbrella. Can transfer to other brands.
The challengesEBA rules Too many tasks to do and not enough staff. Alone in stores constantly. Unrealistic expectations from management. Not valued for hard work. Ridiculous hours, no work life balance.

It really depends on your store manager
The good thingsI've had several managers at a few different Jacqui E stores, and the positives of working here really depend on your store manager. It can be a fun place to work if you have friendly coworkers, and the employee discount is worth it if you wear Jacqui E clothes day-to-day (not just at work). You are able to pick up more hours at other stores if they need someone to fill in, not just limited to Jacqui E but also other companies under the \"Just Group\".
The challengesManagement in general doesn't seem to care about employee wellbeing. Feet hurt from standing? Too bad, you're not even allowed to lean on anything all day. Can't find someone to cover you for lunch? Oh well, better eat fast! Managers can be supportive, but the general feel of Jacqui E in general is that money comes first (upsell, upsell!). The pay was minimum retail wage when I worked there.

    Terrible culture.
The good thingsFriendly people, good location.
The challengesCulture of micromanaging. Known bad managers allowed to continue their behaviour for years despite complaints, while those below them had a huge turnover. Deadlines pushed to the eleventh hour - every project, every time. Constant last minute changes/requests from upper management. Felt like I'd stepped back in time when people worked through lunch and stayed back late to show they were 'hard workers', rather than finding smarter working solutions. 4 months notice period even for non management.
