Awesome crew to work with on the Crusher, great experience if you don't mind the low pay and long hours.
The good thingsBest crew (KCGM Crusher) I've ever worked with within the mining industry. Residential roster... 7 on / 7 off. Get to go home every night. No purple circles like most other sites are overrun with, except for the actual Pit Crews (they had purple circles within purple circles).
The challengesLow pay. Struggle to make ends meet when you have to pay for rent, food, general bills etc. An abundance of out of control Aboriginals doesn't make the lifestyle in Kalgoorlie exactly inviting.

The good thingsA residential mine Dido 5 minutes from home too work, good opportunities too learn equipment if your not working in Open Pits
The challengesThat everything revolves around the open pitters when other departments are working way above there pay grades day in and day out, unlike open pitters who sit on their butts

Overall I’m glad for the experience. I learnt a lot on the job but all at a cost to me personally.
The good thingsThe salary, including bonuses were good. The friendships made and support from coworkers, the vast experience and insight into working for a large company
The challengesManagement were unethical. The expectations were way too demanding and created a great deal of stress to most employees in professional roles.

High demands, low respect for admins
The good thingsMost of the people are great to work with. The admin team are fantastic bunch of women, best team I have worked with. Great having the mine so close to town. Will miss Kalgoorlie and the people.
The challengesManagement - High expectations, as a admin do not expect to have training or develop. You will be driven into the ground with demands and additional work given to you from other departments/people who just no longer want to do their jobs. No manager support and do not think about speaking up about issues, you will be told to learn your place.
