    Good coworkers, Bad management
The good thingsThe people were so nice and felt like family; it was truly a fun environment because of them.
The challengesThe management – too many incidents happening in Kingpin, and they only address it once, and they hide it under the rug; they never follow up or check up on your wellbeing.

I enjoyed my time here meeting new people, learning new things like most of the job roles in this job like front of house, arcade, bar etc. But it can be a tiring job, good to do while studying or just as a part time.
The good thingsPace of work was quick, you are constantly moving around so you're never bored. Liked meeting new people and helping out where I could. Staff got free sodas while working which was cool and a discount on food and games. I made friends and learnt most of the different jobs.
The challengesYou are constantly moving and can easily do 10K steps in a 5 hour shift. In my opinion Food and Beverage staff have it the hardest, you are walking people to lanes, handing out food, cleaning tables/lanes, grabbing glasses off tables and the closing list is so long. Cleaning multiple areas.

Terrible Place. Do not work there.
The good thingsThe friendships you make.
The challengesEverything else. Management was terrible anytime I asked for help I was either ignored or dismissed. Very rude, do not even acknowledge their actions and its consequences

    Fun and rewarding
The good thingsA genuine focus on providing an exceptional guest experience through empowering and supporting the venue teams. Commitment to team culture, and learning & development are difficult to rival. A passionate and aligned leadership team.
The challengesBecause the business model is many attractions and concepts under one roof, full understanding can be difficult in early stages for some, but there are plenty of resources to help.

Fun life long friends, good for young people. AWFUL management and no career progression.
The good thingsSome of the people you work with become life long friends and partners and make the job fun. Good food, bev and activity benefits so great for young people wanting to take their friends for a cheap game. Opportunity to try different departments temporarily and gain new skills.
The challengesManagement is full of gaslighting micromanagers. Reports and complaints are never followed through and you end up being targeted or losing shifts because you've been difficult by bringing up an issue. No formal career advancement. They'd rather load responsibilities onto you for as less money as possible with the promise of a promotion that never comes because then they'd actually have to pay you correctly.

The good thingsManagers and workplace friendships
The challengesExtremely low wages especially for the level of work expected. Extremely bad employee turnover rate

Good first job, bad everything else.
The good thingsThe co-workers are always great, benefits are pretty good too
The challengesLack of job satisfaction, barely any recognition, very low pay. Good for young people for first jobs, but don't stick around long.

If you want to be taken advantage of for low pay, go for it
The good thingsBenefits and the co-workers, they made it bearable
The challengesManagement taking advantage of young employees, low pay for high work standards and expectations, very high turn over rate, communication severely lacked, management would not listen to employee's issues and/or complaints, just generally did not care for employee's health and wellbeing. Upper management is the same.

The pay is quite low for the expectations that they have of you. The managers and head office staff are very inconsistent, constantly power trips and hold no care for their staff.
The good thingsThe people you work with, the discounted bowling, arcade etc and flexible hours
The challengesThe managers are most of the time very hard to work with, there’s also no room for growth and personal development. Some of the people you work with are quite young and can be immature.

With old management, I saw growth in my career and learnt many things, now with new management, I'm not growing, management is difficult and tries to power trip you. Overall, one of the worst workplaces I've been part of

The work is boring, not rewarding and management are a pain to deal with. The best thing kingpin gives is the benefits.
The good thingsCo-workers are nice benefits are amazing and for me it's easy to get too.
The challengesManagement are lazy, and do a there jobs poorly. The appointed supervisors are not that friendly most of the time and can get on your nerves. The work is very tedious and can get boring very quickly with the 5-8 hour shifts.

Great place to work but pay needs to improve.
The good thingsGreat atmosphere, and always fun. Managers as well as co-workers are amazing.
The challengesCan be a little bit stressful at times when the venue is a crowded house and fully booked. For the money we get paid an hour, the stress we sometimes have to go through isn't worth it.

Confused in terms of their work ethic and the lack of care for a new employee.
The good thingsThe environment with the colleagues.
The challengesThe feedback of individual progress during the probation period. Also the fact that the manager did not train myself as a new employee for the first week shows the lack of care for the industry.

no work life balance, low pay.
The good thingsThe team is great and have made friends for life.
The challengesUpper management communication and organisation is terrible. promised things that never happen. none of my own or the rest of the teams opinions or solutions ever considered the pay is so low yet they expect a lot. They care for pushing sales and not the team unfortunately. I saw a high turn over in staff members during my time there.

This could be a good place to work at, but its not.
The good thingsThe people you work with are wonderful, excluding the management team. You get $3 bowling and lasertag games and 30% off everything venue wide which is good.
The challengesAs a 19 year old I would earn $16 an hour, under 18's earn $10. You get used around school holiday periods (get a shift every single day and 1 shift a week for the rest of the year), difficult to swap shifts as management believe you shouldn't be allowed despite them rostering you on during times you rostered off. No incentives to produce a high level of work.

The good thingsKingpin bowling is a fantastic working environment. The venue is fun and vibrant. You really feel like you are part of a strong team who encourage the staff to do their best.
The challengesAny challenges that come up within the venue are all handled very professionally by the management team. I have never had a challenging experience that wasn't dealt with in a timely manner.
