I also appreciate the opportunities for growth and development, which make me feel motivated to keep learning and contributing.

An extremely professional organisation who are looking into the future and ensure you feel heard.
The good thingsWorking with peers and managers who are at the top of their game but carry no negative ego energies. Very forward thinking and willing to pivot to operational needs.
The challengesLearning new processes and systems can be frustrating however the time is allowed for this and no pressure given.

Unrealistic Demands and Insufficient Support
The good thingsAs a Certified Practicing Valuer the main draw was initially the reputation and prestige of the Knight Frank brand. This, along with the generally professional appearance of the offices, provided an initial sense of working for a respected firm.
The challengesSevere disconnect between demands and reality. Unrealistic deadlines, insufficient tools, and archaic methods force excessive hours and burnout. Career progression stagnates, efforts unacknowledged, staff undervalued. Top-down communication exacerbates unaddressed pressure and stifles growth.

Sales Executive

My decade-long career at Knight Frank started with an amazing culture and team but unfortunately ended due to significant company changes, a lack of growth, and persistent mismanagement.
The good thingsI worked as a Sales Executive at Knight Frank in Wollongong, NSW, for around 10 years, leaving in 2021. For a significant portion of that time, the culture was truly amazing, and the team was lovely. When I initially joined, it was a fantastic environment to work in, and I genuinely enjoyed my role.
The challengesUnfortunately, things began to change dramatically towards the end of my tenure. As the company underwent multiple internal changes and shifts, I found it increasingly difficult to settle in. The positive culture I once experienced deteriorated.

From day one, the KF team made sure I was set up and supported. In contrast, my previous employer of eight years never found the time to provide an exit interview and, for the last four years, offered little to no feedback or collaboration.
Now, I come into work with a smile instead of the anxiety and disappointment I used to feel. The difference in culture is amazing, and I feel valued and empowered to contribute meaningfully.
The good thingsI’ve been genuinely blown away by the support and warmth from everyone around me — it’s a real breath of fresh air. Coming from a previous role where I often felt isolated and constantly needing to prove myself, it’s been incredible to walk into an office filled with smiling, welcoming faces.
The challengesWhile there have been some challenges with how a few internal systems are set up, I’m working my way through them and have found people more than willing to help where needed

Disconnected Leadership & Dysfunctional Culture Holding the Company BackMy experience at Knight Frank was challenging. The company appears increasingly out of touch with the current market landscape and struggles to keep up with the pace of its competitors. Internally, much of the focus seems to revolve around politics and maintaining outdated structures, rather than adapting or improving operations.
The environment is heavily influenced by hierarchy, where titles and seniority often take precedence over capability or collaboration. Constructive input is rarely welcomed, and decision-making processes can feel unclear and inconsistent.
Despite the seniority of many staff, the general atmosphere lacks professionalism. Communication can be tense, and workplace behaviour is often surprisingly unproductive for a corporate setting.
Knight Frank may have a longstanding reputation, but from within, it operates in a way that feels disconnected, inward-focused, and resistant to change.

Address internal politics. Start valuing performance over personality. Improve communication and invest in real development instead of protecting underperforming senior staff. The culture needs a reset if you want talent to stay and grow.
The good thingsExposure to large-scale portfolios. Some staff at the operational level are supportive and hardworking. Office is in a central location, which makes commuting easier. If you're junior, you might pick up some technical knowledge — but don't expect structured learning.
The challengesDisorganised leadership, poor internal communication, and favoritism override merit. Career growth is blocked unless you're politically aligned. Management is disengaged and avoids responsibility. Hard work is rarely acknowledged; politics and passivity are rewarded.

A Cautionary Tale – A Broken Culture Masquerading as PrestigePros:
a. Peer-level staff are generally kind, relatable, and collaborative.
b. Central location makes commuting convenient.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cons: Knight Frank presents a polished public image, but behind the scenes lies a deeply flawed and outdated workplace culture. The leadership environment rewards compliance over capability, and silence over innovation. If you're ambitious, fast-learning, or driven by integrity, you may quickly find yourself sidelined.
a. Toxic managerial behaviors are not only tolerated, but quietly rewarded. Political maneuvering is the norm, and internal promotions often hinge on personal loyalty rather than performance or merit.
b. Subtle bias persists — difficult to prove, easy to feel. Internal mobility appears limited for those from diverse backgrounds, regardless of qualifications or intent.
c. Career progression is a myth here. Attempts to move between departments are often blocked — not because of skill gaps, but to protect internal turf and fragile egos.
d. A select few manipulate teams, divide colleagues, and stunt growth — all under the radar, while appearing harmless or even helpful on the surface.
e. Senior leadership is increasingly disconnected from operational reality and fixated on chasing competitors like CBRE or JLL without investing in their people, culture, or strategy.
This is not a meritocracy — it’s a stagnating hierarchy. If you're looking for long-term development, innovation, or to be recognized for your potential, you’re better off elsewhere.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Advice to Management: Wake up - You cannot outgrow your competitors while enabling mediocrity and internal sabotage. Modern talent won't settle for vanity culture and fake progress. It's time to dismantle the old boys’ club mentality and rebuild with transparency, equity, and real leadership.
