    Toxic power hungry management
The good thingsActually enjoyed the work here, great work mates, but I wouldn't trust anyone!.
The challengesMicromanaging to the MAX! Management made it unbearable. Super toxic environment with higher management on huge power trips. Lazy staff get rewarded while hard workers are targeted and attacked. Management never on the same page, play the blame game, and the only thing they were consistent with was inconsistency!. Treated like you're in kindergarten with OVER THE TOP rules, and constantly being surveillanced. It's not what you know but WHO you know. Don't bother! It's not worth the headache.

ABSOLUTELY JOIN THE UNION! Ensure you read all agreements. Look out for you.
    The good thingsServed its purpose.
The challengesBe sure to never have an injury within this company. They will be super quick to feed you to the sharks. Don't believe the benefits they advertise either. It is NOT company funded income protection. Absolutely no care for their people.

Great experience, opportunity of a life time for me with up skilling already on the horizon.
The good thingsManagers, supervisors, leading hands and technicians are all pretty easy to work with. When help is needed all you have to do is ask, everyone works together. The boss's are pretty open and straight forward Pretty well organised and good communication. The pay is decent with some pretty good perks. Up skilling within the company is highly encouraged, as long as you apply yourself then good things will happen.
The challengesAs this branch is only a couple of years old there are still some areas that are a work is progress but as we all work together and brain storm, your ideas actually get heard and get considered

Toxic, political environment with no support or growth opportunities, the overall experience was demoralizing and deeply stressful.
The good thingsSome people are nice and are trying to make the place better.
The challengesMy experience in the Business Intelligence team was extremely negative. The environment was driven by internal politics, with frequent unprofessional and hostile behavior. There was no support from colleagues or leadership, and management was particularly ineffective and disengaged.

    Stay away if you can.
The good thingsNothing as you are just a number.
The challengesNo support at all from upper management. Same thing changes on daily basis to suit convieniece. Once you are used, you are no good to them. If you don't have friends in upper management, your work life will be miserable.

The good thingsFIFO schedule whilst in Perth
The challengesPeople here are just numbers. Major changes oh schedules and salary cuts are not consulted with employees, they will have you think you have an option but will end up having it their way.

    Dissapointing
The good thingsI had a good salary and autonomy at work. Some really good team members, smart people and cool equipment.
The challengesIts an all boys club, if you didn't raise through the ranks as a trady or salesman forget about career progression. Leadership is really up to your individual boss - they just want to sell equipment, no vision of future or proper customer service - even with a well intentioned boss you're trapped in the sales cycle - they talk a big game about technology and I&D, the CEO is on record saying " We no longer talk D&I. Instead, it’s I&D, because for us, inclusion comes first. " which shows how much he cares for that - if you're part of the diversity forget about this company - if you're a tradie or salesman with plenty of OEM experience then this is an amazing company for you.

Left a good job and company for this.
The good thingsSome of the people you get to work with, especially and ironically were contractors as opposed to the direct hire staff.
The challengesLack of support in learning processes and systems - told you once already mentality. People you thought you could confide in will turn on you. Give 100% dont expect any gratitude or thanks. Don't show any emotion. Actually just walking in the door in morning was a challenge.

Disappointing- promised so much but never really delivered.
The good thingsGreat product, good training and technical support for the technicians. Some really committed people
The challengesThe poor cousin to Komatsu Australia. The Company is run by people who have been in their roles too long and have lost touch with the people on the ground. There is an expectation to always be available and never disconnect. People retire only to be brought back. A distinct lack of vision exists. I would look elsewhere if you have the option!

The opportunity is what brings you in, the people are what makes you stay.
The good thingsExtremely supportive and understanding team, flexible work hours, suitable pay, good work environment, internal recruitment and opportunity is prioritised. I always feel safe and happy coming to work.
The challengesLearning a new role always has its challenges, the team are always open to answering any questions and helping to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Good Pay, Good workshop but Poorly Managed.
The good thingsClean workshop, RDO fortnightly, Some training provided depending on who you are.
The challengesMiddle Management dont listen to the workshop floor, infact, they dont even ask. employment of workers without suitable trade skills which means theres always 2 or 3 skilled workers carrying the team. The company appear to have a high expectation of safety but any major incidents are swept under the rug.

The good thingsFlexible work for white and blue collar roles. Variety of rosters (mon-fri, 4/3, 8/6 , 7/7 ) to choose between for city work + FIFO work for those wanting regional work. Trust from supervisors to action work. ' Entire team onboard to create a better culture from top down. Good remuneration.

    My favourite workplace so far.
The good thingsOne of those rare companies where the senior leadership team don't have "old school" mindsets and are flexible and supportive of all the workforce and their individual qualities. Great opportunities for growth, company is learning/growing every day and open to change.
The challengesNothing so far, I think Komatsu is a fantastic place to work.

Bad management especially in service department.
The good thingsIt's good for the apprentice
The challengesEveryday is a challenges, you need to deal with a lot of people inside the company especially when you are on road technician, you deal with the customers, coordinator which is incompetent, supervisor with no right decision and will pass you on tech support to decide what to do. You don't have your own decision, need to take lot of people to involve with.

Have been with Komatsu 10 years, so cannot be too bad of a place to work.
The good thingsKomatsu is a good place to work with a lot of long-term employees. Products we Komatsu are top quality. Good career progression for those seeking something further.
The challengesDue to the business size sometimes, the wheels can turn slowly.

Pays good for an AHS job however is very much sink or swim scenario.
The good thingsThings I enjoyed the most about my Job was being in a different department with management who knew what we did before it got merged into a different one. Working on the customer site who seems to care and support us better then our own management.
The challengesManagement won't stick up for you if you run into any issues. There is next to no training for the AHS job and training you do get is very vague and leaves you with more questions than answers. A lot of the time training is just what you learn from more experienced people however if you get paired up with one while starting the job it's rare. Support from factory is very minimal, often find a lot of information is just passed down from someone who was told something but no official documentation with information crucial to the job seems to exist or the manuals are wrong. There is very minimal career development/progression, any attempt to do any meaningful non-management PC course training is met with resistance and if it will incur any cost to the business then you should just forget it.

After 19 years in Mining - FIFO/DIDO roles and as a Customer of this Business I am more than happy I made the decision to join the Komatsu Team.
The good thingsIn my 3-4 years Komatsu has been going through exciting change and growth and that alone has generated plenty of opportunities for career development and overall job security / satisfaction. An exciting time to be a part of this large Business and alot of exciting developments to come as part of the Companies long term vision.
The challengesAlways plenty of challenges but alot more positive challenges than negative challenges. The ongoing COVID situation has created most of our challenges so this has forced many changes but we have mostly seen this as an opportunity to become bigger and better at what we do in a forever changing environment.

The best place I've worked at in my career and that's based on work/life balance, scope of work, fellow colleagues and management and career opportunities available.
The good thingsDefinitely the workplace culture. I've worked for multiple mining organisations and by far Komatsu promotes an inclusive culture. The work/life balance is incredibly important to me as I have a young family and Komatsu supports this. I wish I found Komatsu years ago. I'm grateful to work at Komatsu.
The challengesNothing yet in the 7 months I've been here.

It gets challenging, fast paced, slows to a crawl but you take it in your stride by giving your best always.
The good thingsWorking on afternoon shift when you are competent with safety and the job itself. Working as a team and pushing the limits because that’s why you go there to work. I have worked with some of their best crews and still do. I work in mining which I have always enjoyed.
The challengesYou don’t get many challenges but to build the trucks. You are always going to have re-works, we probably have to much if I’m to be honest on here but it doesn’t help to complain and it’s easier to just get on and repair it. You are actually working for the customer and not your fellow workers and you always strive to deliver the best value product.

It was one of the best companies that I worked at.
The good thingsMy hard work was appreciated at Komatsu. This is a company that strives for excellence.
The challengesThe tight deadline gave you very little room to prepare for any exception therefore you need to foresee any issues and prepare far ahead.
