Working in education is a fullfilling role that I enjoy every day.
The good thingsI enjoy working in a collaborative team that communicates well. I have excellent work life balance.
The challengesI feel engaged and mentally stimulated at work every day. When I have challenges at work, I am supported by my manager.

19 out of 20 years were amazing, the final year Management made it impossible to stay.
The good thingsStakeholder/ Community engagement. The day to day overall impact the Educator has upon students, teachers, schools as a whole and the wider community. A most rewarding and valuable career when managed correctly.
The challengesWatching a highly professional and well respected not for profit organisation become reduced to just another business model, with little regard for the professionals working on the ground. Teaching mental health and well being every day and then watching (and then experiencing) the lack of regard Managers have for Educator’s own mental health and well being.

A disappointing time in a workplace I really valued
The good things-Being around the kids -Teaching the students about the importance of healthy living
The challenges-Management aren’t connected with educators - if you’re a casual- you are required to drop everything to work anywhere in the city/state - long study period to become a “qualified” educator, constant feedback - great courses to deliver for juniors, out of touch for higher grades - very upsetting and unprofessional exit for a company that ethos is respectful relationship

I wish I had started working here earlier!
The good thingsWhat a privilege it is to work for this organisation; a non-for-profit charity! I have worked in Education for many years and here I have the opportunity to continue impacting students' lives through educating them on all things health and wellbeing. Everyone knows Healthy Harold the giraffe, to work in a place that has such a positive feel and energy with a fun giraffe puppet to drive these messages is so motivating. I see school children buzzing with excitement when they get to meet Harold himself through their education experience. It makes working here just great fun and very rewarding!
The challengesI wish there was greater recognition of the organisation's long-lasting impact on students so that increased funding could allow for more students to have the Harold experience.

Great experience that opens your eyes to the challenges that pre-school and primary schools students of today face. Knowing that we are here to help them through and guide students in the right direction.
The good thingsWorking for a non-for-profit is a great experience that I think everyone should experience. Everyone is willing to help everyone in any role. Constantly opportunities to learn and grown in your role. Great work life balance! Great experience being able to help children of today's society by giving them the smarts to deal with the hard stuff.
The challengesHaving to raise our own funds to create new and improved initiatives, but this is all part of the great reward.

An amazing not-for-profit who is making a real difference with children across Australia.
The good thingsIt is extremely rewarding to work for an organisation which has a massive impact within the community. To see how our educators are making a major difference and hearing the stories aligned to this, really is the major benefit of working for this organisation.
The challengesThere are so many opportunities for the organisation - it can be challenging to not want to do them all at once.

    A heart-breaking disappointment
The good thingsThe Educators are running an excellent program, despite what goes on behind the scenes.
The challengesThe workplace culture is highly toxic and it comes straight from the top. Nothing is as it seems at first. When it happens you'll know.

    Rewarding and Supportive
The good thingsWorking for Life Education has been very rewarding in many aspects. The skills our program gives children are invaluable. It means a lot to me to work for a charity who create such an impact in schools. The work environment is wonderful with supportive team members and management.
The challengesThere is such a high demand for our program that we do not always have availability.
