Great job so far with room for improvement
The good thingsOne house manager is absolutely amazing. Has their house set up so it's easy for documentation with rules easy to follow. Great team culture.
The challengesMore team culture, get everyone on the same page. Better pay. There's a merger happening at the moment and lots of staff got pressured into accepting permanent roles or lose hours.

    Definitely avoid working here
The good thingsThe clients are wonderful
The challengesThis company has gone completely down hill over the past few years. There is no such thing as person centred care here anymore. Good staff are treated poorly, toxic staff are taken care of. Management are all over the place, rules for different staff and different days. Management speak poorly about their staff openly to others, which creates gossip and a toxic environment to work in. It’s overall just woeful and I’d avoid at all cost if you value a healthy working environment, client dignity and person centred practices.

It’s a foot in the door, but you’ll soon be flying back out of it when you see the state of this org.
The good thingsWorking with the young people, even during crisis & with complex behaviours. Working with my colleagues.
The challengesManagement is absolutely horrendous. -100 communication between higher levels and House Managers/Clinical teams. Poor case management and funding allocation - clinical staff and TSWs leaving in droves (gives you a good idea of when to get moving) No consideration for your wellbeing and personal commitments until you’re on the brink of a serious breakdown. Staff are treated as numbers & herded to various houses without appropriate training/profile information. Not allowed to advocate for the young people, unless you have a unicorn for a manager or tell external supports. Never acting to prevent harm. Just waiting for serious incidents and acting after the fact. ‘Promotes’ reporting of incidents - but you will be singled out for “over reporting”. They don’t like statutory bodies looking at the situations of these kids in OOHC. Management will be investigated for concerns and are allowed to return to work & target staff. No pay progression! Even with the experience! Lvl 2.3 max!

This place in only Beneficial for the company and not the clients or workers.
The good thingsMeeting different people and children
The challengesNo direction for the clients. No help from bosses when stuck in a situation. Workers getting away with doing the wrong things.

Don't waste your time and effort Better jobs out there who are supporting and friendly
The good thingsNothing good about this job. Management is unprofessional and toxic. Their questions are irrelevant and their conduct is baffling. I question how they got the job.
The challengesA waste of time and energy

Not the right place if you are looking for career growth or to develop further.
The good thingsFew passionate team members
The challengesLS suffers from poor senior leadership alignment, frequent shifts in strategy without clear planning, high staff turnover, lack of documented processes, and a reactive, short-term focus that prevents addressing causes of issues.

You're better off almost anywhere else
The good thingsLoved the team I worked with - together we pushed through the organisations poor decisions and lack of care for its staff and clients.
The challengesWorst merger ever - they are still struggling to blend two organisations together after 3 years. Astoundingly thoughtless decisions from management. Poor professionalism and lack of care for staff, clients, legal responsibilities and accountabilities. Upper management needs a complete overhaul.

Would not recommend this company to work for.
The good thingsWorking with the kids was great.
The challengesThe onboarding process was messy and not enough support. Given that you are working with children in crisis, you are not given much support to help them. There is no consistency between staff or teamwork.

Other reviews are very misleading. If you are starting out as a TSW the money is almost unliveable. Will send you to clients that no one else wants to work with and will make you travel and not care for your family considerations.
The good thingsSome clients are nice.
The challenges Very Low wage. Will start you even if you have lots of experience at 2.1 /2.2

Working at Lifestyle Solutions has been a rewarding experience, offering a good work-life balance and meaningful engagement with clients, despite some administrative and procedural hurdles.
The good thingsLifestyle Solutions provides a balanced work lifestyle that supports both personal and professional growth. The organization promotes independence and community integration, making it a fulfilling environment for those passionate about disability support.
The challengesDocumentation processes at Lifestyle Solutions can be overly complicated, which sometimes detracts from the efficiency of care provision. Additionally, the recruiting experience and internal transfer processes are areas where improvements are needed, as they can be slow and inhibit career progression within the organization.

I’m relieved to never work here again.
The good thingsThe only good thing was taking the kids to do activities and seeing them happy.
The challenges- Constant “grey areas” when you ask a question. - No service specialist sticks around for more than 3 months. - It took them 8 months before being provided with appropriate training to work in crisis situations. - The clinical team was so overloaded with doing outreach work, they didn’t have time to work with the kids in placements properly. - The ‘on-call’ team don’t help with anything. Pointless calling them. - Managers aren’t trained properly to run a team. - They hire anyone, even without prior experience.

LSS is the best disability org I have worked for. Newcastle SIL leaders were supportive, as were co-workers.

I love my role working within foster care. Lifestyle solutions has supported me within this role.
The good thingsWorking within a supportive team. Always opportunities to further develop skills and complete more workplace training. Working with a range of young people, hours always available. A recent change in management has been beneficial for the company. Damien has changed the work environment to feel more inclusive and has become a more supportive company to be employed by.
The challengesHaving to advocate for putting the children's best interests first within the company at times. inconstancies with rostering and staff

Amazing management, Talent Acquisition, and HR team!
The good thingsThe recruitment process and the communication from management during this process made me feel welcomed, valued, and supported even before starting the role. I could clearly feel that the manager cares for the team and wants the best support in place for them. How the manager holds the best intentions for the team and expresses appreciation when speaking about them, and how new workers are welcomed is extremely impressive. Being flexible and communicating clearly to make things work makes you feel valued. Thanks for an amazing experience in a short period of time!

    No plans on leaving!
The good thingsMy Managers are second to none, my colleagues are some of my closest friends. I love coming to work and being challenged every day but having the support around me to face those challenges and over come them! I get encouraged to learn and grow, I am encouraged to share my ideas. I have so much flexibility with working from home. I really love working here.
The challengesIn the past, there have been a lot of culture issues that needed to be changed which caused a large turnover in staff and a stressful environment. However, in the last 6 months, I have seen an ENORMOUS change within the leadership teams, culture and a shift in staff motivation. Lifestyles is actually changing and work has never been more exciting!!
