The worst place I've ever worked due to Management/Supervisors.
The good thingsThe work involved in trials, it was interesting.
The challengesThe divide between nursing management and lower-level staff, I wasnt even a nurse but shared a manager with them while mine was on leave. A culture of hurtful language and attitude towards staff and unrealistic expectations where she would constantly take advantage of staff members was fostered instead of the supportive, uplifting culture it originally seemed.

A ONCE GREAT WORKPLACE NOW RUINED BY POOR MANAGEMENT
The good thingsA workplace full of great colleagues
The challengesVERY POOR MANAGEMENT: Expect to be overworked, rosters are released late and with a lot of issues. The number of staff employed does not match the level of work needed to be done, always requiring help from other departments. If you choose to work here, know that you will be asked to help out other departments - some tasks require training, and once you are trained, expect to be constantly asked, leaving you PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY DEPLETED. NO ONE asks or cares for the staff's well-being. Work performance is not a road to promotion in this workplace. Lazy people are kept and promoted, while the people who put more than 100% remain unrecognised. So if you're looking for a starter job in clinical trials, this place is okay but PLAN to get out as soon as possible.

P&CThank you for sharing your thoughts. We understand that Linear has changed over time and that can feel different for those who’ve been part of the journey. As we’ve grown, we’ve had to evolve the way we work, moving from a family-style culture to one built on clear expectations, fairness and accountability. This shift is about creating consistency and professionalism while keeping the same care, collaboration and sense of purpose that have always defined Linear. We’re proud of the progress we’re making and grateful to every team member, past and present, who’s contributed to Linear’s story.

Toxic Management, No Support, and Zero Career Growth. I’d run the other way
The good thingsSome of the nurses and CTA colleagues work collaboratively and are genuinely amazing people to work with who became family like overtime. Clinical trials were interesting
The challengesNurses and CTAs are constantly micromanaged and overworked, while some senior staff spend most of their time “supervising” rather than helping on the floor. The workplace culture is toxic — blame is quickly passed down to nurses when things go wrong, while management avoids accountability. Leadership and communication are poor, with managers lacking basic people and organisational skills. Staff concerns about unsafe workloads, burnout, and work-life balance are repeatedly ignored despite multiple meetings. There is no genuine recognition, respect, or appreciation for frontline staff, and no pathway for career development. Overall, a demoralising environment that drives good people away.

P&C We’re sorry to hear that your experience at Linear wasn’t what you’d hoped for. As Linear continues to grow, we’ve been focused on strengthening leadership capability, building consistency and ensuring a fair and supportive environment for everyone. We know that change can sometimes feel challenging, particularly as we move from a close-knit “family” culture to one grounded in professionalism, accountability and respect. Our goal is to retain the sense of care that defines Linear, while ensuring every team member has clear expectations and equal opportunities to succeed. We appreciate your contribution during your time with us and wish you every success in the future.

A once great workplace which has sunk to new lows.
The good thingsThe staff who work here are like family, and some of the best people around. The participants who come in are from all walks of life and bring a lot of positive vibes and great stories.
The challengesManagement make some incredibly distressing decisions, with no thought for their employees and which have shattered the family vibe amongst us. It feels like we are consistently singled out for mistakes that we don't make, asked to increase our workloads immensely without even a thank you, and burdened with strenuous shifts which are anti work-life balance. This has ultimately created a workplace that unfairly benefits employees who like to engage in espionage against one another.

P&C We truly value the dedication and care our team brings to supporting our EPU participants and recognise the strong sense of connection that has been part of Linear’s culture over the years. As we grow, we’re working hard to build on those foundations, fostering collaboration, respect and professionalism, while ensuring fairness, clear expectations and balance for everyone. Change can be challenging, and we acknowledge that transitions sometimes feel uncomfortable. Our focus remains on creating a safe, inclusive and high-performing workplace where every team member feels supported and valued. We appreciate your contribution during your time with us and wish you all the best for the future.

A company that flew too close to the sun
The good thingsIt was good at the start. Good close knit team, fun workplace. But that changed drastically over the next year. What happened? Unfair redundancies, team members being assigned to new bizarre roles, breaking apart teams aka *restructuring*, little to no training, high expectations and no support.
The challengesUpper & middle management are seriously deluded because they act like everything is fine when the lower class employees are struggling, angry, overworked & GROSSLY UNDERPAID (Oh management will say that pays comparable to other companies) then why do staff leave to other clinical research companies?

A once cool workplace, now fallen victim to mismanagement
The good thingsFriday after work drinks are my favourite part of the week
The challengesDysfunctional, misguided (and often absent) management, particularly in Cancer Trials have ruined what could otherwise be a fun and interesting job. I now spend every spare minute of the day on this website looking for an exit strategy. Once you join, so will you!

Get to work with great people and help support the advancement of medical therapies.
The good thingsHaving worked across larger and somewhat hectic organisations, working at Linear has offered a refreshing change of pace, focus and work/life balance. There's also some good perks like salary packaging, flexible work arrangements, social committee, wellbeing initiatives and 5 weeks annual leave.
The challengesIt’s still a relatively young, growing organisation and there’s some inexperience dotted within teams. It’s suited to people who are adaptable, resilient and keen to learn. Parking can be an issue at times, but it's also very well served by public transport.

By fostering innovation and collaboration, we aim to transform the landscape of drug development and deliver faster, more effective treatment solutions that improve patient outcomes worldwide.

Messy and misguided work/management. Fun and hardworking team. Heed the reviews
The good thingsRemarkable team members, awesome patients and (for all the wrong reasons) upskilling.
The challengesInsurmountable workload and poor pay result in very high staff turnover and no training at all. The upskilling mentioned takes place via trial by fire not because of any support. Right now collapsing. If you've no other options, come here expecting the worst, with the plan to leave soon.

People & CultureThank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience has been challenging. We understand that times of change, including recent structural adjustments, can be difficult and unsettling. While it’s encouraging to hear your appreciation for the team and patients, we also take seriously the concerns you’ve raised around workload, training, and support, and are actively working to address these. Wrong Move For Me, Don't Do It
The good thingsClose to public transport
The challengesI thought a new job would be good for my mental health, now I'm in a workplace that undervalues staff, offers no training, no career progression, and loads everything under the culture banner. Managers and Execs get the money, staff get the work, the turnover is huge. The reviews on here are true.

Poor culture, unrealistic expectations of staff, not valued or listened to.
The good thingsGreat team, rewarding work, learnt about cancer trials.
The challengesMassively overworked, hugely underpaid. They pay people in the role different salaries that don’t reflect experience or time in role. Management are unsupportive and they’ll blame you and everyone else for failings. They’ll rather push you to breaking point and see you leave than hire more staff.

Talent LeadThank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re pleased to hear you found the work meaningful and valued your team. At Linear, we review salaries on an annual basis using benchmarking data from hundreds of comparable organisations across Australia and ensure we exceed modern award rates. The good thingsInteresting trials. Wonderful patients.
The challengesCompany is going down at an alarming rate. Upper management have no knowledge of how things actually work. Concerns and feedback that are voiced are either ignored or met with open hostility. Communication between departments is lacking. Clinic staff are overloaded, over worked and never recognised.

The good thingsThe clinic is nice and the trials are interesting
The challengesI found the work culture to be very toxic in clinic. A lot of gossiping and not a lot of support for new starters. Seemed like a great company to work with at first but they have a lot of underlying issues within the work culture that are not being addressed. Very high turnover of new staff.

Terrible leadership consequences are trickling down, this company is a mess and a shell of what it once was
The good thingsThe people on the ground are hardworking and looking for a start in their career
The challenges-New CPO and CFO have ruined what was a welcoming culture -Management do not listen to employees resulting in a disconnect -Old employees are being pushed out at an alarming rate and not replaced -Nepotism galore -Massive workload for very low pay -Mental health is supported in name only, allowances for people struggling are few and far between, including ND staff who are expected to mask -Very hard to move up the ladder, cushy execs get paid to simply hand work off and are not going anywhere

The challengesMy time at Linear started out really well, but the company has gone through an awful change over the last 6 months. Everything that was good has been wiped out, the culture is now incredibly toxic, and management is literally concerned for themselves and their best friends. The staff turnover is beyond belief. There is no way to climb the ladder, and poor HR means nothing is looked into no matter how often it is reported. I would not recommend working here to anyone who values their mental health.

This company is going around in circles and pretending they are not lost. Open your eyes and ears and listen!
The good thingsThe people you work with.
The challengesEverything went downhill very quickly here. Theres lots of changes going on that only seem to benefit senior executives and upper management and they are not honest with the people who are on the ground who are doing the work. If you work at Linear and are reading this you should take onboard the feedback here and that we have sent to you in emails and surveys and meetings - why are you sacrifycing good people and what used to seem like a good culture and making such negative changes? Low paying jobs need to have other benefits and a donut every six months doesnt make up for it. Do better.

The challengesLower-level employees face a glass ceiling with little chance of recognition or pay rises or progress. The challengesIt seems like they promise alot but don't follow through and worse they don't seem to really listen to what their employees have to say. It's like talking to a brick wall sometimes. When you feel like your concerns aren't being heard or that the promises made to you aren't being kept it's hard to stay motivated and committed to your work.
