    Nepotism and failures abound
The good thingsGreat team to work with
The challengesSenior leadership have no real understanding of how to deliver strategic goals, and hiring is not based on talent resulting in failed projects and lack of governance.

If you are looking at a role here, question retention and ask why the turnover is so high.
The good thingsThe tea room on level three, the free coffee and the variety of tea.
The challengesManagement needs to learn to adjust their style to the people reporting up to them, the phrases, "Oh... that's just they way they I am", or "that's just the way they are", is not okay. The organization needs a better understanding of Psychosocial and Psychological safety - its unclear as to whether they fully understand the difference. The level of micromanagement was so incredibly demoralizing that I walked away feeling useless and questioning my value.

a nightmare from start to finish.
The good thingsColes is literally next door, and Woolworths across the road
The challengespretty much everything, starting with corporate culture which is unbelievably toxic, and leadership that doesn't exist.

If you're looking to join a Toxic culture, have no aspirations to develop and happy to be demoralised by arrogant leaders then Lotteries is the place for you.
The good thingsWorkspace and facilities along with community grants program
The challengesToxic management in Lotteries section. Lack of career development and pathways.

Don’t work in the Lotteries division.
The good thingsLeisurely pace of working
The challengesToxic management and behaviour in Lotteries, where the grandeur of Olympus clashes with modern professionalism.

Avoid the Lotteries area like the plague. If you're into being demeaned and treated poorly, Lotteries is the place for you. Unfortunately extremely poor behaviour of certain individuals at Director level is accepted.
The good thingsGreat people who genuinely care and want to help. They're definitely the strength of the company.
The challengesToxic culture, particularly in the Lotteries area.

A happy and purpose-driven workplace, full of talented people.
The good thingsWork life balance isn’t a byline in a welcome document, it’s real and encouraged. Everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful. You are given the opportunity to develop and grow.
The challengesBeing a government organisation, there are processes and procedures that you must follow, which takes more time to do certain tasks. But every process is fair and transparent.

    Extremely disappointing work environment.
The good thingsGood pay rate. Really enjoyed the cultural training and learning about how the grants area is positively helping the community. Great environmentally ethical facilities in the office and kitchen areas. The role itself was exciting. There are some lovely staff underneath management levels. Great location opposite a train station. The company has so much positive community involvement through their grants network.
The challengesA very outdated management working style which is backed up by the HR department, this would benefit from a refresh and some modernisation. Change and new ideas are not embraced as they take way too long (if at all) to impliment. Not a nurturing/growing environment, you will leave with the skills you came with. Constant restructures make it difficult to feel settled into this office. Very little access to work from home is challenging. Inspirational CEO messaging does not filter through to nor align with middle management aproach which is a shame.

Disappointing experience with no job security
The good thingsGood pay rate (but mainly due to it being short contracts each time).Dis
The challengesManagement (and teams in general) constantly changing due to short contracts and permanent staff going on secondment over and over again. It always took forever for any changes to be implemented due to the long approval process. Way too top heavy!

Great people but limited growth opportunities
    The good thingsFriendly, enthusiastic staff.
The challengesWas hired as a senior in the analysis team but didn't feel challenged and any specialist skills I had weren't really adding value. Instead a person with general skills rather than technical skills would be a better fit. All thinking really comes from the one person and you just need to support rather than lead. 8-5 team coverage required so if you're more flexible you need to work within the teams restrictions. Lack of people leadership skills in my team. Lack of internal promotions/people development.

The good thingsSense of responsibility, being a part of something that many Australians take part in, being able to tell people they have won large sums of money and seeing their reactions.
The challengesManagement can be a problem sometimes, not all stores are the same possibly creating difficulty at the help desk and can creatge confusion between customers.

Typical Government Job - no effort, no reward
The good thingsAll people under management level were friendly and keen to work
The challengesBeing a Government organisation, all change was near impossible to pass. Management didn't communicate with staff about movements, and I was told on one occasion to \"lower my expectations\"

    Good to date but changing.
The good thingsInteresting products and industry with familiar products such as Saturday Lotto, Powerball. And heavily involved in providing community development through Grants programme.
The challengesNew management (CEO) and going through significant restructure, shift of locations, and other process changes.
