Loved doing what I was employed for. Extremely disappointed with how management run the company.
The good thingsGood people on ground level. Plenty of overtime available, only way to make ends meet with such low wages.
The challengesMonkeys up top ruining the circus. Old dinosaurs stuffing their pockets before they retire.

A very pleasant and relaxed but different working experience compared to the mines.
The good thingsGreat fellow workers. Once you got use to what was expected it was fine.
The challengesThe company is going through a prospective take over; so peoples day to day mood was reflected in the uncertainty of whether the place will be ticking over next month / next year. Once one had completed the allocated / planned work for the shift. It was hard finding something else to keep busy for the remainder of the shift.

    Dangerous place to work
The good thingsHaving a young family being able to come home every night is good
The challengesTrying to make the place safe, management focus entirely on production and nothing else. They don’t even hide the fact that safety isn’t their priority.

Was / will be a good place to work, just not at this current time.
The good thingsOperators and maintainers are great people.
The challengesRidiculous hours required for shift and maintenance supervisors to keep on top of managements requirements. Difficult time for sugar commodity, meaning no money for proper maintenance. Poor internal processes leading management to blame employees for systematic failures. Organisation attempted to diversify revenue streams with mixed success, leading to a lack of money to maintain equipment and evolve technology and systems with advancement.
